She was amazing but the whoa is me act was a little pathetic. I understand that the entertainment director who told her "not what we are looking for" before she ever opened her mouth was cruel, but I know lots of people with disabilites and abnormalities who lead happy, healthy lives. Who have boyfriends, date, get married, have kids etc. I personally thought it was over the top but her performance was quite good.

Oh, I agree. I'm sure the producers really played up the "no dating" "no life" angle. We too have many disabled friends. DH was an RA in our dorm in college, and the hall he was on was primarily disabled. The majority of our friends are disabled and in w/c, and almost all are married w/ kids, and very successful.

Hopefully this opportunity will help her realize this.

She's such a sweet (and talented) woman. I hope she can go as far as Susan did in Europe. I know in America, we're less sympathetic toward "the underdog" and more for the looks & $$$$ than most parts of the world. I wonder if this will impact her chances. It turned out that Susan Boyle wouldn't have even made it to the top-5 in the U.S.

See that's what happens when someone is in a hurry and doesn't proofread before sending. After re-reading it, yeah, that came out rushed and with the wrong meaning. Basically an invite saying...hey, you like America's Got Talent too, grab a cold one and join the chat, etc. But not how it came out. Have no idea who could be so careless...

Seriously though, no apology needed.

Thanks for posting this. I cannot stand watching that show but like the GOOD performers. She sounded great.
