America's Got Talent tonight's results show

I like fighting gravity don't get me wrong but the act isn't unique. Canada has been running black light performances in ontario for years with the famous people players who are a group of mentally and intellectually disabled people they do various black light performances from rock and roll themed, to christmas music to even the beatles. I saw the beatles one when I was 6 and ive seen quite a few. But I still love fighting gravity!

Oh and Arc Attack shoulda made it Grrr!!!

But Im in for Prince Poppycock to win LOVE HIM he is so fabooooo!

Whew! I thought I was considered old now at 34. :rotfl2:...also Michael Grimm isn't a singer. He's a magician. Were you thinking of one of the other guys? Also, Terry Fator WON AGT and was about the same age as Grimm when he was discovered for the show, no?

Michael Grimm is a singer, you're confused. You're thinking of Michael Grasso who is a magician.

Terry Fator was a little older but his act is more unique and it's harder for someone like Fator to become famous.

Singers get discovered all the time in bars and I'm sure people in the music biz have heard Grimm before. My point is he would have made it already if the people in the know thought he was that good.

:lmao: See, I knew ONE of us was confused!

That is just the most bizarre reasoning. They aren't magicians. It's a performance, not just a gimmick. That's like saying singers and dancers are unimpressive because you know how they do it. It's the same as the Voyage of the Little Mermaid show at DHS (which is always packed when I'm there and is still awesome to me even though it's the same show I've seen a hundred times!). Then again, I'm a bit of a simpleton and easily impressed.

Ok then it's just boring. :cutie:

That opinion and reasoning are completely acceptable! :goodvibes

LOL! Phew!

I do think it would at least be mildly moe entertaining though if we didn't know how it was being done.

To be fair, I had NO IDEA how they were doing it until the end of the act (during their first audition) when all those guys came out on stage and some of them were in black and some were in white. Then I was like OH THAT'S HOW THEY DID IT.

Remember...I'm a simpleton!

I know exactly how they are doing it and I still love it. It requires many hours of practice to perfect this act and they deserve credit. Yes the idea is not original but most things are not original. Terry Fator did not create his genre, Jackie Evancho did not invent opera singing, Poppeycock did not invent wearing weird costumes and performing, Michael Grimm did not invent soul music, Michael Grasso did not invent disappearing acts, etc.

I wonder how long you can do that kind of blacklight performing before it starts looking like a retread of something you have already done.

As for Michael Grimm...if I remember correctly he is 30 or 31, I wouldn't call that old.

As for Jackie, she has a good voice yes. But her performances are boring. She just stands there. At least Poppycock puts on a show and the other singers play instruments or move around the stage. She just stands there and it's boring.

Umm she's an opera singer. Do you want her to dance or something?

Yes this is why everyone's taste is different. You love Fighting Gravity, I don't. It's not that it isn't original. I just think it's boring, and just not that amazing. I certainly didn't imply they had to have created the act for the very first time ever in order for it to be entertaining. For me, it's just not. No biggie. I love Prince Poppycock and I'm sure there are those who don't.

Opera is boring.:lmao:

Depends on the Opera. Some is quite interesting, for example in Aida...the actual opera and not the Elton John/Tim Rice musical...they have live animals on stage and lots of dancing. Some can be boring as all get out.

Have you ever been to an actual opera? They do more than just stand on the stage.

She's a 10 year old girl, not a seasoned choreographer. Geez!

Barbara last year, who by the way should have won, just stood on stage and sung and she finished #2.

What exactly does Alice do on stage besides sing?

Woooooooo! Four of my pics made it through (as i knew they would!)
