I agree about Adam, I just do not like his style of music.

And I'm probably the only one but I love Anoop too!!!

I like Anoop. I don't LOVE Anoop but I like him. I like Danny the least out of everyone left. I couldn't name one song that he sang. They all sound exactly the same to me.

Remember Nate Marshall? Well, I stopped into Spencer's Gifts in our local mall, and there he was...working the register! I ran and found DH who came back in with me and chatted him up. Evidently he has a recording deal lined up but cannot proceed until his contract with AI expires. I guess he has moved to Vermont from Malone NY. He says he is recognized alot. I kind of felt sorry for the guy.

Aw, I liked Nate. I hope everything works out with his recording deal.

That's a shame about that 'generation'. It's awful that some people feel that hugging a gay man is somehow harmful.

I've never had a problem with gay/lesbian relationships. I've had friends, bosses and coworkers who were gay/lesbian and their private life was no issue to me.

In my industry it's rare to find one who is NOT! It's a non issue but people need something to complain about.

I hope so, too. I wanted to point something out. This photo (as well as many others I've seen) indicates that the other contestants don't really have any problem with Adam being gay. Maybe it's a generation thing, because I know MANY, MANY men in my "generation" who wouldn't be caught dead hugging a gay man. Hopefully we can take a lesson form this younger set.

What generation is that? I'm 53 and it's not in mine. I guess it's more cultural/regional than generational. I grew up where it was just part of my life, not something strange or to be feared. As I move around I realize I grew up VERY differently than other areas...

While I wouldn't give it a second thought, I'm sure there are people who would. I'm sure Adam's eye makeup, dyed hair, sexual orientation, and personality have turned off a few people.

I like the guy and think he is one of the most talented performers ever on AI. He's entertaining and I never know what to expect when he gets up there to sing. It's great to be surprised and entertained all at the same time.

Adam continues to get more press than all the other contestants combined. Some recent articles not linked here yet areNew York Post, Sportingnrews.com, Business Management Daily, and FoxesonIdol.

I think there are clearly two reasons he's generating this kind of buzz. The first is that the public is aware that we are seeing "a star in the making." He's inspiring the kind of intense fandom than an Elvis/Michael Jackson type star inspired - and its worldwide. Fans are posting from Australia, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, the UK, and of course Canada - where the show is broadcast. The other countries are downloading every video they can get a hold of and following the show as best they can through the Internet. The Sporting News compares him to the kind of buzz that happens when a prodigy (like LeBron) appears and becomes a national obsession.

The second reason, is his sexual orientation and his openness about it. Many writers see this as a showdown between conservative "middle America" represented by their boy Danny Gokey and Adam - whose followers couldn't give a hoot what kind of "role model" he'll make. It's always baffled me why anyone would want performers or sports stars to be role models for their kids - but whatever. Whether those writers are correct or not, it's creating a lot of attention, and the ratings for American Idol are higher than last year.

It's much better to win and get a first-class producers this brings with it.

I always wondered about the contracts. Does the length of time they "own" them increase the further they go in the contest? I would think the winner would have a contract longer than a year.

It did! I couldn't believe it. I recognized him, but couldn't remember his name. That's why I ran to find DH so he would confirm it was really him. Then I kicked myself for not taking a cell phone picture with him.

Maybe he will be working next weekend. I still can't believe it (I also can't believe our local media hasn't picked up on it...there's not much excitement here, except for Capt. Richard Phillips coming home - he lives about 10 miles from me and I worked with his mother-in-law a few years ago).

I do like the way Adam plans out his "set". The PP that mentioned that the show was a big long set is a great comparison.

Adam would have done well with Seal's Kiss from a Rose... I do love that song. Seal can SING!!!!

If it is a preset selection list of 100 songs, it could be awful.

It'd be nice if they could expand the song list and include new songs never before performed on Idol and retire often used songs that have gotten old or have always gotten negative reviews from the judges when performed.

I love K.C. and the Sunshine band, loved Saturday Night Fever...so it;s all good.
Doubt anyone will take on the BeeGee's tho, or even K.C.( Too basic at this level of the competition, karaoke, sounded like everyone else yadda, yadda)
the outfits might be hilarious tonight, worth watching just for that.
I need to catch up on all the posts from the last few weeks, I am not sure WHAT I think of the Matt saveother than maybe Lil gets booted with a friend 2night. She'll probably make it through yet again, watch Anoop and Matt go. Maybne it's 'cause Allison being so young and a roommate etc.,are she and Lil roomies or is Allison with a family member?
Anyway, hope tonight is not a comafest, that would be a bummer.

Way back....way, way back....at Six Flags when KC and the Sunshine Band was at its peak, I got to meet KC. I was envied by every girl in my school. It's a long story, but a few of us were let through the barricade an hour or so before the show and got to go to the band rehearsal. So we hung out with KC (and The Sunshine Band of course, but who cared about them? ) until he had to go change for the performance. He was very nice. We were starstruck. We were right there when he rehearsed shaking his booty.
