Hey guys! We're back from a WONDERFUL trip! This was by far the best one ever. :goodvibes

I'm so glad it was good, because I came back to some bad news at home. Well good and bad....

First the good... I don't have to have surgery after all! :woohoo: This was a SHOCK to me. I didn't even think not having it was an option. But, she said that the one I had back in October fixed me. :goodvibes

Then for the bad (actually horrible) news. My mom was diagnosed on Monday with advanced breast cancer. We didn't have any warning, so we are not dealing with this very well. It has spread to her lymph nodes. She had a PET scan and biopsy yesterday. On Monday we will find out staging and treatment options. Say a prayer for us if you can.

SO... after all that, it took me a while to catch up with AI. But, I'm pretty happy with the vote-outs over the last 3 weeks. :thumbsup2 I was bummed that my DVR cut out before Adam sang this week. I have it set to run long, but for some reason it didn't. :confused3 I hope I can find it on line somewhere. I hate to miss a minute of Adam. :lovestruc

AND - I got to see DAVID COOK!

Glad you had a good trip and it's great that you don't have to have surgery!

I'm so sorry about your mom. Prayers do help though. My grandma was diagnosed with stomach cancer, turns out it was stage 4 when they did the surgery (that's how they found out how advanced it was) and she went through chemo and she lived for 2 more years. It wasn't much time but it was something and I am thankful for that all the time. You just have to keep hoping and praying for the best.

They had the whole show from last Tuesday on the American Idol website since so many had issues with their dvr cutting off. I'm not sure if it's still up though.

I'm glad you got to see David! I love him

Audition video for anyone needing a Lambert fix before Tuesday.

One of my favorite Adam "moments" is when the judges deliberate after his first audition. From the start he was impeccably polite and charming. I love it when he kisses Paula's hand and tells Kara that he'll take the ruby from her ring with his teeth. He's so at ease with himself and wasn't flaunting his gender preference like Nathaniel Marshal. He didn't bring his boyfriend to the audition either. I'd love to take the place of the female friend who gets the huge hug from him. Lucky girl!!

I remember watching that during the auditions. I DVRed the auditions, checked the names of the top 36 and ONLY watched those. I cannot STAND those ridiculous auditions, I only want to see the "contenders".

I was WOWED by him even back then. I did all my searches then and was impressed by his resume.

As for him being "gay" .... :rolleyes1... it didn't hurt Freddy Mercury, Ellen or Elton John, and eons of others.

So true.. I don't care what he does or doesn't do.. he is one talented guy.

There must have been a connection for why I posted about Jason Castro earlier. I just read that Jason has been signed by Atlantic Records. I am beyond excited and can't wait to hear his first album.

another Jason fan here....WOO-HOO! Gotta love my dred-head, 'cause he wsa thinkin' BOB MARLEY! :rotfl: OMG that was the best! Thanks for posting this, I have been dealing w/real life lately and not been able to follow this thread( or ANY fun stuff out there) as often as I like.
And fear not, we voted for Jason a TON over here too...when he sang "If I fell" during Beatles week I was in heaven as it is my fav Beatles song, and his Over the Rainbow, well, again, the guy just makes you smile.

Hi Mandy, glad to hear all is well for you, how scary ! I agree, angel on your shoulder by being at your folks..

Thanks everyone for all the good wishes for my mom. Today will be hard, but after we cry a little - OK a LOT. :) Then we start FIGHTING! She's not leaving me!!!!! :goodvibes

I figured I'd get a new avitar just for her. :)

I loved his audition, too. My husband and I knew at that point he would be one of the top contenders. As for the "lucky girl", I think that's his mother, isn't it?

Yep, his Mom. He has a young looking mother. His Dad is pretty cute too, LOL. And he has a brother that looks a lot like him, name is Neil I think.

You're right and since I'm old enough to be his Mother I'd happily settle for a "Mom hug", LOL.

Robin what a fantastic idea. I can't believe I didn't think of doing that sooner. I absolutely cannot stand watching the horrific audtions. It is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I will have to do that next year! Thank you!

Haven't been following AI very much lately, no real reason, just got out of the habit.

Thinking of your mom, TruBlu & hope everyone who's been around the tornadoes is doing ok.

I love the new avatar. :thumbsup2

Did anyone see Scott on Regis and Kelly this morning? He performed and then in his interview he talked a little about his medical conditions. The poor guy's been through a lot - he'd been suffering with kidney failure for a while and had a kidney transplant pretty recently. He said he and his donor were both doing great now, thankfully. He said he didn't say anything during the show because he didn't want his disabilities or conditions to become his main focus. He wanted to be judged on his talent, and he wished he could have gone farther but he was proud to have made it so far and gone out when he did. I respect him so much for not milking his personal life for pity votes. Hes a classy guy and I hope he does well :thumbsup2
