I know. I didn't think you were making a general dig at those that don't like Adam. It was another poster I was talking about.

And FTR it does not bother me that people talk about how much they love Adam. Not at all. What DOES bother me is posts that dig that those that **don't**. (comments like we just don't "understand"). Those are the posts that deserve a response - which Emom did perfectly. Yet SHE gets grief from you and others for being 'negative'. And I just don't think that is fair.

People have valid reason for not preferring Adam as a contestant. We are not saying he is evil. However, no matter how many times I say Adam seems like a nice person, but that his singing and/or performance style is unappealing to me and others for X reasons, some people will read that as, "Emom hates him."

I'm just making the point that people can prefer some other contestant over Adam without being knuckle-dragging, drooling morons. I guess I just can't be subtle about it.

If you don't remember Taylor Hicks had a MONSTROUS fan following, known as the Soul Patrol! I should know I was one of them!!
He had over a million posts on his board, more than double number 2 and 3 of that year, AND Vote for the Worst! The problem was his appeal very shortly faded due to the animosity between him and the producers. He truly lost his edge and his fight. I got turned off shortly afterwards myself and the SP fell apart like they never existed.

I just meant that Taylor didn't seem like the obvious person to even be in the finals -- regardless of his fan support. I guess I should've probably used a better example.

I downloaded dialidol to vote for Adam. I had my son set it up. Then he said he was going to set up his to vote for Kris. His girlfriend growled at him. He actually doesn't dislike Adam but he just prefers Kris. I completely understand your point.

I watched that and thought how easy it would be for Adam to have gone the easy-listening or adult contemporary route (ala Josh Grobin). He chooses to be a rocker, though, and that's where he loses some people. I'm a fan, though. I like both of these guys equally, so I'm all set to be happy, happy, happy this week.

I love both the top two and I loved Allison. There were only a couple contestants I really didn't like and both of them were well loved my many others.

I'll be happy with either winning. I would prefer it for Adam but I'll be happy for Kris if he wins.

Idol always brings out this passion in people. That is why the show is so popular.

Personally it doesn't matter to me which one wins... both are talented in their own ways.. but I do wish Adam would tone down vocally. IMO when he does those high notes, it seems he loses vocal control...

Kris is much more low-key and snuck up on us. He does a good job with a more acoustical, soft rock/pop slant to his performances. He's not going to rock out like Adam but then not all rock is the same...

I'm sure Simon would be the first to tell anyone they sound terrible or are off key. I think Adam shows amazing control on those high notes.

Adam sounded very good when singing that song at his high school. I didn't like the song, but he sang it well. He looked so different and average then. I really like it that he seems to have followed his heart and isn't afraid to be who he wants to be. I also think the dark hair now looks very good on him.

I can't wait until the show tonight. No matter who wins, at least the final two are both talented singers and nice people. I was so disappointed when Daughtry got voted out, but he went on to do great things and he wasn't even in the final two. I think both Kris and Adam will go on to do great things too.

Kris has a fanbase somewhere, but it's not sitting at this keyboard. Sometimes I do really like what he does, other times I think it's just okay. I don't remember ever saying, "Dear lord, that was hideous. What was he thinking?" Since I have frequently made this face at Adam's performances, odds are that this week my vote will go to Kris. Now if Lil had been going against Adam, all bets would have been off.

So, my honest question here, is if you are not a fan of Kris's (as you just stated above) and we all know you don't like Adam, why vote at all tonight? Sounds like a vote against someone. And keep in mind, I never said "why watch?" although that might occur to me too. But if I didn't like either of the two finalists I can't see myself wasting my time voting. Fortunately I like both.
