I really liked them both.

I loved Adam from the start of the Final 13 shows. Kris definitely grew on me. I felt that he showed the most growth of all the contestants. Adam is definitely a powerhouse that already is a star.

It was announced on our local Fox news station here in Arkansas that AT&T said that 34 million (or something like that) of the votes came from Arkansas. Of course, I have to assume that most of these votes went to Kris and probably because he's a local hometown boy. *sigh*

I wonder where that came from because according to Fox16 out of Arkansas, they say...AT&T is denying that 38 million votes came in from Arkansas. They are not sure where that number originated from

ITA. Adam, at his heart, is a showman. He is also the best thing that could possibly happen to groups like KISS and Queen. 30 years plus on, they are probably quite happy to have someone without an AARP card that might possibly join the tour. (Or just show up and perform at a concert here and there as time permits.)

I just saw an article in USAToday, it said that Adam is 27 and Kris 23. I was surprised I didn't think Adam was that old.

I am disappointed, but not surprised, that Adam didn't win. I will suffice it to say that he didn't have a chance against the combined Danny/Kris fan base that was voting for Kris. Also, I don't think Adam's personae (shall we say) sat well with the middle American market. FWIW, if that was going to be the outcome, then Danny is the one who was robbed of the title.

My prediction is that Kris will go into country music, have one or two hits and then fade. Adam will have a much more successful career, probably along the lines of Daughtry.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Adam hasn't already been offered a recording contract. He didn't look too devastated that Kris won.

Listened to both versions...both are done VERY well. Guys should be proud of themselves. My main critique is that I can tell it's ADAM singing. his voice is immediately recognizable as his. Kris is terrific, but it could be Jason Mraz, Plain White Tees, or a whole host of Pop singers. He's not unique enough.

I heard that on the radio today. It's bizarre. I guess someone didn't like Simon and that was the closest the person could get to hurting him.

Agree completely. Kris has a unique sound, and when you combine it his guitar it's great. The voices listed are current. I like that about Kris. He's not retro, he's doing his own thing.
I love that he's not only a really good singer, but a talented musician.

Not really. 19E gets first dibs. They already said they will sign him. Just hopefully they will put a lot of effort into him with their own top producers and musicians.

I know that they connected Daughtry with a bunch of great artists like Raine Maida, so hopefully they will do the same for Adam and Kris.

He said somewhere that he only appeared on stage in LA to pay the bills, but he really wants to be a singer.

I'd LOVE if he appeared on Broadway!

I think that's how a lot of voters felt. In the words of David Cook, it is about "progression". Adam set the bar extremely high for himself at the very beginning. There was very little he could do to improve as the season went on. He may have picked up some fans when he sang Tracks of My Tears and Mad World. However, it's my opinion though that most of those votes were for "best of the night" rather than pulling fans away from existing fanbases.

Also, the average Idol voter wants to give a chance to an unknown. Those on the fence probably knew that Adam would not need an Idol win to succeed.

Adam could've "played" the game smarter, but I suspect the fact he remained true to himself means more to him.

Simon is right about at least one thing. Adam has the makings of an international superstar. It wouldn't surprise me to see him in contention for a Tony, Oscar and Grammy in his lifetime. I think he is a rare talent.

ps - I say this as someone who can appreciate his talent but not buy his CD!

Did anyone watch the Tv channel preshow of the Idol Final. I guess Kimberly Calwell and David Cook broke up. She didn't interview and didn't say a word about him.

You mean David Cook?

I don't see anything that says Raine Maida was involved in Daughtry's CD in any way.
