She really did. I don't know how someone can sing with laryngitis.

I used to sing in the school choir, and I had a stint where my voice just gave out. Every time I'd talk, my voice would just give out or squeak. No lie. I was known as "Squeaky Stephy" for the rest of my choir years.

But if I sang strongly enough, without overdoing it, it would happen. It wouldn't sound the same as usual, but I could sing. I don't know how it happens, but it did.
