having been a David C fan all along- he broke the cardinal rule for me tonite. NEVER EVER try to do Bono unless you are BONO. To me BONO is more than Whitney.
I was underwhelmed with David c's first 2 and then I stopped watching. What did he sing last.

David Cook didn't do very well tonight, IMO.

I didn't think so either- even grandma said "he sounds like he has a sore throat and is to tired to sing tonight". David A can't sing rock or upbeat songs but the songs he sings he does sing VERY well.
I just wish David C would brush his hair and not look so sleezy all the time-I think that is a major part of what turns me off of him, he just looks dirty all the time.

I feel the same way about Bono that you do, and I wasn't overly impressed with David's performance, but he didn't have a choice in the matter as Clive Davis chose that song for David C. to sing. I'm sure he wouldn't have chosen a U2 song on his own. I agree with you: That's just something that shouldn't be attempted.

I really think that David Cook played it safe tonight. He's not stupid; he realizes that like Chris Daughtry before him, he'll do better career-wise without the AI baggage. He's got a big career ahead of him and he wants to get it started ASAP. If he were truly trying to win this thing, he would have done either Hello or Billie Jean for his final performance as Simon mentioned.

I think David Archuleta was very impressive tonight. He performed all three of his songs very well. If he is named the new American Idol, and I think he will be, it will be best for the careers of both Davids. JMHO, YMMV.

Funny I agree with the hair part. From day one, I kept thinking he would look so much better with brushed hair. It looks so messy that way. I know its the "style", but I think hes got a nice looking face, but with messy hair its almost like you dont see it.

Luckily, most people vote based on the singers' body of work -- all their performances -- not just the ones last night. Given that, David Cook is likely to win.

David Archuletta showed that he has a beautiful and controlled voice. I was also impressed with how well he handled himself with all the pressure and put on great performances.

That being said, I would love to see David Cook in concert.....Archie would bore me to tears after the first song or two.

Both great singers and both deserved to be in the finals, but hopefully my 7 votes (all I could get in before I went to bed) push Cook over the edge

I totally agree with you...David Cook is far more entertaining. Archie would put me to sleep. I don't deny he has a great voice, I just don't think he is very entertaining.
Although I think DC is in danger of not winning (although I voted about 50 times! I probably exceeded my text allowance for the month!) I know he will have a great career. I am just hoping he would win so he could be the most successful Idol winner ever!

That's a good point; I think Archuleta winning would lead to another Fantasia or Taylor scenario, and won't reflect well on American Idol itself, which Cook winning could have as much positive impact on American Idol itself as if Daughtry had won.

I absolutely loved seeing Ruben at the end of the show. I'd forgotten how much I adored his singing and glad to see he seems to be doing well. Hope we see him more of him in the near future.
