American Idol Thread

I was really hoping Dial Idol got it wrong and that Syesha would be safe and that David A. would be heading home. I just don't understand what others hear in his voice or appreciate about his personality. I just don't appreciate either one but maybe I just don't get it, huh?

I like David A. I like him better than Syesha at least - her personality was a bit too polished for me. Can't say I was surprised at all last night. I DVR'd it while I was out at dinner with DBF and when we came back I just fast forwarded to the very end. No surprises!

:scared1: I'm only GOING for him and David Cook!!!!

I got my tickets today, too!!! :cool1:

Have fun! You do realize that if David A wins, you get to beat the traffic. Unlike that pesky 2006 show where we had to stay until the very end!
;)

Ahh, I am never going to get tickets :sad2:

Logged on for the Internet presale today and the tickets are the same sections as the Poptarts presale, just on the other side of the arena. Boooooooooo!

I guess I will signing on with the masses at 10 tomorrow.

Don't be surprised if they're not much better seats for the general onsale release.

I used to work at a Ticketmaster outlet about a million years ago (OK, maybe 15 or so... still makes me old as dirt) anyway, even way back then we never had access to the very best seats in a lot of cases.

There's so much rage directed at Ticketmaster when folks can't get good seats. While said rage toward Ticketmaster is completely warranted for some things... when it comes to ticket availability, I think it would be more properly directed at the promoters.
Sheesh, you wouldn't believe how many hold-backs some of them reserve.

Thats what stinks....I don't even need GREAT seats....I just want decent seats. If I am willing to pay the top tier price, I don't want to sit in the back corners of the arena.....I at least want to be mid arena or closer. Heck, I don't even mind a side view if I am close....

I know I am just venting....but we are making a weekend trip out of this so I don't want to wait until the last minute to get good seats....I would be happy with decent seats :)

If I remember right, you said you were seeing the show in AC? Where in AC? Is it Boardwalk Hall? If so, have you ever been there? It's a pretty small venue. While that might make it harder to get tickets, there aren't any really terrible seats. Nothing nearly as bad as the Wachovia Center in Philly. I've been in the rafter of that place and THAT can get bad.

I decided to buy tix for my DS(11) and myself today and got some floor seats towards the back. I wish I had seen what was offered on Wednesday but I know they were better than the seats I tried to get when I signed on after the fact. I'm happy with them and just didn't want to risk waiting it out.

Now, if things work out with my other commitments and we are able to attend the KC show, the only way I'll be able to get them is by trying the day before. Who knows, maybe I'll get the Cook row. :rotfl2:

Yeah, I think Boardwalk Hall is comparable to the Sovereign Center. I saw Cher there on the 100 level but dead center in the back and while the seats were good (MUCH better than the Wachovia Center) we still really couldn't see her that closely. I don't need to be front row, but I at least want to be able to see their faces clearly if that makes sense. This is a big weekend away for us, can you tell I am stressing :)

Well don't worry, I'll bet you'll do fine getting tickets tomorrow morning. I never think presale tickets are any better than regular sale tickets. It's just a way to slow down the "traffic."

That sounds like a really neat weekend. Have fun-win big!

LOL, I thought the same thing...

Don't forget they do that CHEEZY group thing at the end, by then I'm halfway HOME!! :car:

I got floor tickets close enough to be attacked by security when I see Michael and David Cook ...

Does anyone know how to read these odds, for betting on the American Idol winner?
AMERICAN IDOL - May 20
$500 LIMIT
AMERICAN IDOL SEASON 7 - WINNER
5/20/08 5:00 PM
31251 DAVID ARCHULETA +210
31253 DAVID COOK -280
Reports quoting this indicate that this indicates a prediction that there is a 78% chance of David Cook winning. Knowing absolutely nothing about betting, I'm curious how those numbers lead to that percentage.

Tonights the night! 10 minutes until the finale begins!

I really hate this boxing theme

They should have told David Cook just to stay home the way they are praising David A left and right

David Cook showed that he can sing almost anything, David A showed that he can only sing slow songs. Sorry, but he's boring. Why does he have to sing the Beatle song? Couldn't he have picked another one cause he did this one before?

Yes, that's really it: Archuleta is a pretty one-dimensional performer, while Cook is a well-rounded, and very creative.

I just put two votes for David Cook through. He is so good. Any song he sings leaves me wanting more. I hope he wins! He deserves it.

very true!!
my thumbs are sore from texting for David Cook

having been a David C fan all along- he broke the cardinal rule for me tonite. NEVER EVER try to do Bono unless you are BONO. To me BONO is more than Whitney.
I was underwhelmed with David c's first 2 and then I stopped watching. What did he sing last.
