BTW----I think Ryan was very, very, very rude to Michael Johns when he was saying last American Idol Gives Back they sent no one home, but tonight they are sending him home! What was that about???? Ugh

And that's not a true statement. It's true that they didn't send anyone home that night but they sent 2 people home the next week. They just changed the format this year. They did it the next night instead of waiting a week to send 2 home. Sometimes Ryan really bugs me. Remember how he told Chris Daughtry he was leaving?

I'm totally speechless, I can't believe Michael went home tonight. I really hate when Ryan tries to fakeout people I find it to be so cruel, Poor Michael problary thought he was safe only to find out he wasn't again

I thought it was horrible how Ryan tried to fake everyone out. I'm still in total shock that Michael is gone. I went from being so excited that David C was safe to being totally ticked off!

Like I said on the other thread...I think it is the best thing for him. IF he has what it takes, we'll hear from him (think Daughtry and Elliot), if not, we won't. I think MJ will be fine with whatever opportunities come his way. Winning AI is not the best thing that can happen to these people!
I'll actually be hoping David Cook does not win. I REALLY like him and just do want want him to climb through AI hoops by winning.

Let David Archuleta win. Let HIM jusmp through the hoops and sing the crazy written/chosen song constantly.

Sorry MJ fans. I too was shocked, haven't been that shocked since Season 4 when Constantine was eliminated.

Bucky Covington went out in the #8 spot in Season 5 and he's doing really, really well - top debut male country CD, two top 10 singles, etc.

Even though I love IDOL, I never want my favorite to win - I don't want them tied to AI.

WOW, never thought MJ would go home before Syesha or KLC.

I guess I have to deal with the FIRST time my favorite didn't win... it's not fun...

I would've been fine with him losing to David Cook, David A or Jason, THAT I would've understood...

I am not floored, but a little disappointed with the results. I thought that MJ or Jason would be the next guy to go and it would come down to that weeks song choice. I just thought we already would have said goodbye to KLC and Sayesha by then.

I think the older contestants have really bonded this season so I am not surprised that Carly was upset to see MJ go.

I am beginning to think the producers have their favorites they push to win. I can't believe M.J. went home tonight. My favorite is Jason but 2nd favorite was Michael. I loved Dream On the other night. The judges have been very, very hard on Michael and Carly. I can't understand that. I think Carly is the best singer out of all of them, even though Brooke White is my favorite female singer. I'm just really disappointed in the politics of the show. I guess it comes down to who is more marketable.

I can't believe Syesha and Kristy are still there. But like someone said earlier, Bucky went home around the same time, and look how well he's doing!

Well....I rarely vote for anyone, so I can't complain - but I can't believe that Michael Johns got voted off. I thought he had more of a following.

eh - it'll be better for him, to not have the American Idol tether. He'll do the AI Tour, then someone will sign him and he'll make lots of records.

They wanted him to choose a singing style and stick with it. I think this would have helped him to carve out a niche that the other contestants didn't already have. He couldn't compete with David Cook and that seemed to be what he was trying to do.

Just simply stunned like alot of people. i thought he was maybe going to be in the top 3 or at least 4. i am very dissapointed to say the least. i really liked him. Shocking.

That's kind of what I thought too. DC was more consistent, but still original. I liked Michael's performances, but I couldn't really picture what a CD he would come out with would be like. Still though, he was WAAAY better than Syesha, KLC, and Carly. Even David A (he creeps me out). And more marketable than Jason. I feel for his fans, I remember how mad I was when Chris was voted off.

I always get upset about this show, but I'm still watching.
