O.K. I still have chills from my guy Jason....I even closed my eyes 1/2 way thru to be fair, to not be swayed by the eyes and dreads...YES!

I liked Jason too. I thought he did a nice job. I guess I just don't see him winning...he's lacking something...I like big voices, maybe he is a little too mellow for me.

Didn't like David Cook as much as I usually do. Carly was ok. Not sure how "inspirational" the song is...although I love Queen

Jason= Yuck that all I can say,

Kristy= To me that was her best performance yet

David C= never heard of this song before but his goatee looks good

Carly= EXCELLENT ,

David A= To me this was the best of the night, hands down, and I really don't like this kid

My favorite performance was Jason, I really loved it.


I thought some of weaker performances came from David C, Carly and Brooke. Brooke was good but it wasn't anything special. I didn't enjoy David C tonight and I have in the past. Carly was just off, it just didn't work.

I thought Jason was the best tonight. That song was the perfect choice for his voice and personality.

Everytime I see him lately I keep thinking...
I could really hear him singing childrens' music !!!
You know, like the new Raffi...

Jason reminded me of a demented Tiny Tim singing that song tonight- it was just horrible!
David Cook- UGGGGG- he is just SO arrogant looking and his singing tonight was just terrible.
I normally like Michael Johns but even him I didin't like this week.
This whole season has the worst talent of any season so far!!

the judges were on larry king live last night and here is the synopsis accordings to mjsbigblog

-Highlights:

-All four plan to donate their earnings for that night to Idol Gives Back.
-They agree that it will come down to a Battle of the Davids–David Archuleta and David Cook–for the Final Two.
-Simon predicts that Syesha Mercado, Kristy Lee Cook or Jason Castro will be eliminated Thursday.
-David Cook is favored by all 3 judges. Simon calls him “fearless” and says he’s his personal favorite.
-They agree that Carly Smithson has not figured out who she is as an artist yet.
-They think Michael Johns should stick to blue eyed soul. They don’t like him as a rocker.
-Brooke White should stick to what she does best–singer/songwriter stuff. She could make it into the Final 3 or 4 if she picks the right songs.
-All the judges agree that David Archuleta is the one to beat. He needs to pick the right songs to maintain his front-runner status.
-Simon says the odds of Kristy Lee Cook winning are “one million to one”. Randy thinks she could have a country recording contract somewhere down the road. Simon doesn’t think she’s a great country singer. “She’s forgettable,” he says.
-Randy thinks Jason Castro is “OK” as a singer–he’s just a “singer/songwriter in a bar”. Ryan challenges Randy. He says Randy said something different on the show. Paula thinks he has a very “definitive style”. Randy would not give him a recording contract, but he’d sign Kristy Lee Cook. Simon thinks Jason is all about song choice. Simon says, “the trouble is, he turns up every week and he looks like he doesn’t care.”
-Randy thinks Syesha Mercado is more of an actress/singer and that she’ll end up on stage. Simon doesn’t think her vocals are good enough.
-Simon’s favorite Idol is Kelly Clarkson. He thinks she brought legitimacy to the franchise, and he likes her personally since he’s gotten to know her.
-An email question uses the phrase “pimp spot” and the judges find that funny. They have NO clue whatsoever how performance order is picked. They think names are picked out of a hat!
-Randy thinks America has gotten the winner right every year. Simon thinks America got it wrong Season 5 with Taylor Hicks.
-Larry King is an idiot.

Didn't realize there were now 2 threads. Anywhoo, here are my thoughts on the night...

Michael Johns – Dream On – I said it from the very beginning - I don't get his appeal??? I think he underperformed ever since the audition week. I still get a "poser" vibe from him.

Syesha Mercado – I Believe – I thought she sounded pretty good and connected to the song.

Jason Castro – Over the Rainbow – I absolutely love Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's version of this song and I think Jason did it justice. My favorite performance of the night!

Kristy Lee Cook - Anyway – I thought she sounded better than her past performances. She had really pretty eye makeup on. I guess I wasn't that entralled by her singing if I'm noticing eyeshadow!

David Cook - Innocent – Our Lady Peace is a Canadian band and this song was a huge hit here. David butchered it! His past performances will save him thank goodness. By the way, his new hair cut it HOT! I couldn't see past his other hairdo.

Carly Smithson – The Show Must Go On – Oh geez...what on earth was she wearing? It looked like a loose swimsuit or some leftover wardrobe from Flashdance. I really didn't like this performance.

David Archuleta - Angels – I thought he did ok. The piano playing almost seemed fake in the beginning. I'm still not a fan.

Brooke White – You’ve Got a Friend – Another heartfelt performance from Brooke. She's one of my favorites - I love her goofiness.

When Carly was singing DS8 said "Mommy, she is really scary, and that is a very angry song." I told him to close his eyes and just listen. He did and said it was much better. We got a big laugh when Simon said she sounded angry. I told DS that he could take Simon's place.

My thoughts for the night....

Loved Jason but I really love Iz! His version is great. It gave me chills.

David Cook okay but not great... and he is one of my faves

Michael... good

Brooke-predictable

David A-not a fan no matter what he sings

Carly... why was she looking so angry. songs that inspire and she looks pissed

Kristy-I loved! Shocked as anything but I really did like it. She is my middle DD's favorite and every week I tell her she is going home but this week maybe not.

Who did I miss oh yeah Seyesha... she is just forgettable.
