Just remember, Kelly has been working with professionals in the biz for quite a while now, so sure she comes across as much more polished than the current contestants. If I recall correctly from last season, she was not as smooth and polished in the competition as she appears now.

Other than Kim C, I don't think any of the others has any professional stage experience. Give Reuben some time with professional coaches, he would be just as impressive IMHO. I did always like Kelly's voice though. She never seemed to be screaming like Trenyce (yuk) and Kim C.

A Goat! That is a PERFECT description ! I was so confident she was going to the point that I said if Ricky left before her or Kim C that I would NOT be watching the show again !
Will I cave? Kim C's voice is horrid-one tone, no range.
I wonder if Ricky did not sing at the end as they seemed to run overtime. No fair! He was not my favorite, but did not deserve to go last night.
I will stray from the crowd and say I don't like or get Kelly C. I did not watch AI last year so I have no attachment to her. She seems like a carbon copy of so many others. She looked like a witch last night.

While I was typing, someone else posted what I did about Kelly. And I am in my 30's!

I MISSED it last night. Just read all of these posts and I still can't figure out: Who were the bottom three? Someone PLEASE tell me (okay I know poor Ricky was voted off - I don't agree), but who were the other two and in what order? Thanks

Kimberly Locke, Kimberly Caldwell, and Ricky. They were called in that order. Kimberly Locke was sent back "safe" immediately leaving Kimberly C and Ricky--I thought it was a sure thing that FINALLY Kim C was gone--but the rest is history.

Thanks, Tess. I am surprised that Kim L. was there instead of Carmen, though I don't think Carmen is as bad as most people seem to think she is. I would have guessed it would be Kim C., Carmen and Ricky in the bottom three, with Carmen going home (though I personally wished it would be Kim C.). Ricky was inconsistent and I didn't like it when he sang in his top register, but I thought he was great this week. Poor Ricky. I hope he gets a contract, anyway. I think he could do well with some training.
Oh, did Kim C. bawl her eyes out again, and look like a racoon?

The ladies of The View discussed AI again today. The ones who actually watch the show were also surprised at the vote--even the guest host (star of Shampoo--sorry don't know her name) said she thought Carmen should have been gone. The guest host (unlike a lot of us) felt the top three from pure voice standpoint are Clay, Ruben, and Ricky--go figure.

The minute that they pulled that nonsense last week, I knew something like this would happen. Think about it, if you knew that your favorite was in the bottom two and that the votes were being carried over, wouldn't you be hitting redial and voting again and again?

They never asked the judges how they felt about who was in the bottom three and they never gave Rickey a chance to perform. It was as if they wanted to get it over with as quicky as possible.

And we have to endure Carmen and Kim C. for yet another week.

I like Ricky but not for his voice. Sorry. I'm in the very small minority that wanted to see Carmen around for another week or two. I think she has potential if she just picks better songs. I will say that I was very, very surprised that she wasn't in the bottom three just from the general sense of people. I wouldn't mind seeing either Kim go next.
Didn't Kelly do well, although I think her stylist made a mistake with those pants! I'm still hoping Clay and Ruben (minus the 205's) take it all the way!!

I didn't get to see the show last night so I was very suprised to see that Ricky got the boot. I thought it was one of his best performances. Especially with Lionel Ritchie sitting infront of him. This was not a good choice.

To whomever said that Carmen was "Goat Girl" hit the nail on the head! All I can think about when I hear her is the Goatboy skit on Saturday Night Live. She would fit in perfectly.

I am also glad to see that other people do not like Clay. He is too Broadway not an AI. I think that Simon was the one to point that out. There is never a difference in the way he sings. Maybe if he stopped singing ballads and started signing up beat songs I may feel different. There is just something about him that when he comes on I change the channel.

I really think that Ruben is going to win. I sit on the edge of my seat when he sings. I get excited to hear him and he's about the only one. He sounds like he is an old pro and has been on the radio for a long time. He just needs to pump it up a little more and be little more "showy" if that makes sense. I am sure that all comes with time though.

I don't get all the rave reviews for Kelly. I enjoyed her so much more before this "grand" make over. What made her special was that she wasn't like all the other trashy female singers.

ITA with you!! I didn't like her new look or her new song at all. I thought she appeared to be playing a role, instead of being the regular old Kelly, I really liked, that she was last year.

As far as the voting goes, Ricky had to have been 4th to the bottom last week to go this week. The Trenyce and Carmen fans probably voted a zillion times to save them and Ricky was good enough where people thought he would be safe.

I would've loved to see either of the Kim's go last night, I don't care for either of them.

I was also surprised about Ricky! I think that the guys are sooo much better than the girls. It seems to me that with the exception of Josh's one poor performance they seem pretty solid. The girls on the other hand seem to start out yucky and out of tune and then by the end of their songs it sounds better, maybe because they are all screaming by then!

I also didn't think Ricky got to sing because the show was only a 1/2 hour instead of the hour. Same with asking the judges their opinion. We got Kelly instead!

I had to dig this up because I was in Orlando when this show aired. I am still in shock.

My son, who NEVER stays up long enough to watch the whole show was so mad I thought he'd NEVER stop complaining. Kim C and Carmen were ABYSMAL Tuesday and deserved to GO. Ricky was the best I'd ever heard him. Shame!

I am so ticked that THOUSANDS of deserving singers are not on that stage because of Kim C and Carmen. Are blondes so covetted in society (sorry, I'm not of that culture) that they would be kept in the competiton because of that???? Someone PLEASE tell me!!

I LOVE Clay but he is beginning to sound the same week after week. I do think that he and Reuben will be the last two standing. I will buy both of their CDs in a second!

I totally love this show, but...you know what I think is REALLY stupid about the way they run things???

Each phone line should only be able to make 1 vote!! The reason I say this is that the voting SHOULD be based on which contestant will make a CD that America is going to go out and buy...

...and one fan may be able to vote for their choice like 50 times (as fans of Carmen, Kim and Trenyce did to help *keep 'em in* after they were in the bottom 3 last week) BUT - is that same one fan that makes the 50 calls going to go out and buy 50 copies of the same CD?!? OF COURSE NOT!!!

if AI could somehow control people from voting 50 times for the same contestant...then you'd see who would have REALLY gotten the boot on Wednesday night!!!
