well....what could really be expected tho, you know? we already had a rocker win two seasons ago, and Crystal isn't really all that "new and exciting" either.

i wouldn't be surprised either way, to be completely honest with you. i just want this to end.....i'm hoping SYTYCD will be better this year.....looking forward to that....

Well, I must be the only one who doesn't mind the usual winner's songs even if they are cheesy. My sister and I were disappointed they didn't give them original songs.

I really hope Lee wins. Crystal deserves to lose just for her little farewell speech to Simon. Good luck on your future endeavors??? I think she is the one who needs more luck than him...

I don't think you are in the minority. I think she has a great voice but I wouldn't buy her stuff either.
I'm rooting for Lee, I don't think he's great but I definitely like the way he sings and I have liked almost evey song he's done his own thing to, Crystal not so much.

I had 10 hours of work and 3 hours of meetings at the Elementary School last night. (My last night as PTSA VP ) Anyway... when I got home I feel asleep before I even turned the TV on. I was bummed until I read about it here. Doesn't sound like I missed much!

I guess it wont take me long to FF thru it tonight before the results show.

It's so funny reading all the comments swooning over Lee on this thread, while hating on Crystal for so many different things. Of course, the posters appear to be about 90% women, so I guess its not surprising. Lee will win this thing for one reason only, and it isn't talent. Crystal is by far the better singer, musician, and performer, but won't win because its mostly women who watch and vote on this show.

Men get such a bad rap with being shallow and all about looks. But women are going to give this thing to Lee based only on looks, both his and hers. I swear women can be so unjustifiably judgmental and spiteful, especially toward other women. I know this is just a stupid TV show, but anyone who thinks women should rule the world ought to rethink that. Bill Clinton and Lee DeWeeze, two reasons women shouldn't be allowed to vote.

And I don't know where people get this feeling of her being arrogant. She had confidence and a love of what she does, but I never felt she was arrogant. She has been nothing but grateful, polite, and humbled by the opportunity through this whole thing. Just because she talks and shows personality, doesn't mean she is arrogant. And just because Lee looks like a scared chihuahua about to piddle on the floor, doesn't make him more talented or more deserving of winning this thing.

Although I clearly recognized her as the best singer, I too wasn't sure if I would want to listen to her CD. But after listening to her original songs on You Tube (do yourself a favor and check them out, although it's too late), she is probably the ONLY American Idol winner (if there is any justice in this world), that I may actually buy.

I can tell you weren't here when most of the women here swooned over Adam Lambert.... and others couldn't STAND him. It was a VERY CONTESTED forum here last year.... And I'm not entirely sure that the ones who swoon over David Cook did so on his looks... I know I didn't. He was a better performer.

If that's the case, how do you explain why so many women have made it to the very end of AI and many women have even won.

^^^ I agree. I think Crystal has a good voice but I find Lee to be more entertaining and into what he is doing more. He also is the type of artist I listen to rather than what I believe Crystal would do.

I also like Crystal but I didn't vote ONCE this year. Liking Crystal is like choosing which drink at the fountain, coke, pepsi, tea... whatever. They're all the same, just okay.

This year was a major yawn, not worth the passion of trying to figure out who likes who and why. LAST YEAR was a compassionate love hate debate, even the battle of the Davids was a comparison, but THIS YEAR? Not even worth the trouble.

More people last year voted AGAINST Adam than for him. It was the first time I saw a thread putting down an AI contestant on the CB... the backlash was amazing. Unlike Season 7 I saw NO ONE drop dead in love with the front runner, but he won to a lukewarm yay and he's been lukewarm ever since. Kind of sad.

This season was even worse. The first time the threads just plodded along, no one was excited for the vote, not a soul plastered a single contestant on their signature.. yaaaawn.

And HOW DARE You blame women for Bill Clinton and Lee Dewyze!!!???? Come ON! I only voted for ONE ....
