I know I'll probably take heat for this, but I find this kid disturbing as a whole. Everything about him gives me the oogies. He reminds me a bit too much of Michael Jackson.

No heat from me. I am very turned off by him. His Michael Jackson voice, super long hair, too big smile are just some of the things I don't like! I especially didn't like it when he talked about how HAPPY he is that he doesn't have to go to high school anymore (I was expecting him to say he finished early) because he got his GED!

That's Cyndi Lauper. What an amazing voice she has. I was lucky enough to see her at the July 4th concert in Boston back in 2001. I wish we had more female singers who weren't afraid to do their thing and had talent to boot!

yes, Paris from last year's show. she cried every single time someone got voted off.

I think he was just trying to "make nice." I think he was afraid that he may have made a mistake in talking back and he was trying to fix that mistake.
I think he meant what he said on Tuesday night but regretted doing it after the time passed.

well, see....i like Simon and i have nothing but respect for him also, but i probably would have told him like it is, too. i'm not afraid to speak my mind. of course, that DOES tend to get ME introuble a lot, too.

About Sanjaya and Randy's comment about him not being able to handle Stevie Wonder songs -

Unless I'm remembering it wrong (and please tell me if I am), didn't Sanjaya sing "Ribbon in the Sky" for his audition? If so, they had no problem with him doing a Stevie song then! Don't get me wrong - his song this week was dreadfully boring, but it's just that it would make Randy's comment kind of kooky if Sanjaya made it into the competition on a Stevie song.

well last season they had a whole show dedicated to Stevie Wonder and all of the contestants had to sing a Stevie song. so i think that Randy just has no idea what to say half the time, and just enjoys hearing himself talk and says the most random things ever. that's my theory with Randy.

....and what's wrong with getting your GED??? i really hope you're not criticizing him just because he wanted to graduate high school earlier.

Not only does Randy not know what he is saying, I'm convinced he doesn't have an original thought in his head. Not to mention the fact that the producers should run subtitles to translate that pidgin hip-hop-ese English he is speaking. It was aigt, dawg!

None of the judges offer any useful critcism - how is " [contestants name, three times] I don't know man, I just wasn't feelin' it y'know? It was just aight." supposed to help anyone sing better?

I remember one time Ryan actually said "do you have any constructive criticism" and Randy just said "sing better". Okay - that will help!

But I also think that they picked their favorites a long time ago, and do everything they can to keep people from voting for anyone else. Last season, I think they really wanted Chris Daughtry to win, and now that I see how much they are promoting him over - oh that guy who actually won - I'm sure of it.

The problem with Sanjaya was that the judges were too harsh - people are gonna vote for him out of sympathy. The best way to get rid of a contestant is to give them mild, lukewarm praise. Simon is usually able to do this well - which makes me think he wanted to keep Sanjaya around longer and was purposely extra mean to him.

I am way to paranoid to watch this show.

they promoted Chris over everyone last year, that was really aggrivating. i wanted to smack him along with the rest of the judges! argh.

well, you have to know the show IS somehow fixed. no matter what anyone says.

My bigest beef comes when they tell the singers to take chances, make a song "your own" then when they take chances and sing a Celine song, or Christina or Stevie...and they sing it different they get all over them for it.
It's either "their own" or it is the same...can't have it both ways. AND while I like Stevie Wonder songs I don't think he is the be all end all that NO ONE can do him justice....puhleese...even I can sing "I just called to say how much I love you, I just called to say how much I care...I I I I I I I I do.

i just don't get what they're expecting from people anymore

are they looking for someone unique when they say "i wasn't feelin' it dawg" or are they looking for someone who sounds like everyone else when they say "it sounded, to me, like a bad karoke".

Yikes! Those are worse than what I was expecting. Why on earth do people let themselves be photographed like that?

I really can't see AI keeping her on the show....I just can't picture the producers or the voting public accepting porn pictures from the potential next American Idol.

Didn't Randy even say at the beginning of the show on Tuesday that it doesn't matter what song you choose, you just have to sing it well? Then Ryan said something like "we'll see how long [Randy's opinion] lasts." Sure enough, however, Randy criticized Sanjaya for singing a Stevie Wonder song. Then they also criticized others for singing songs that were too "old" for them. I agree that the judges aren't really consistent with their comments.

Hey Hey there....easy now....

I am actually one of the ones that feel a bit sorry for her....I think she got a raw deal with the producing of the show on elevator night....that turned alot of people against her from the get go....I personally think she is a decent singer....We all heard her at the auditions and she did very well....She wasnt the only one that was terrible this week...I think nerves played a big part in everyones performance...I think a big difference from last year to this year is alot of people last year already were in bands etc....I think most of this years people are a bit more green when it comes to playing in front of an audience....I know we have a background singer this year and that person did pretty well I thought...Do i think she is the next American Idol....No not at all but I think she is better than she showed this week...As for the pictures go...Who cares??? really what is the big deal....She will fit right in with the Britney Spears, Paris Hilton's, Anne Nicole's, Nicole Ritche's and others....not saying its right but all of these people are all over the TV and magazines...its the world we live in....

Robin you are right....I think she is beautiful and I will be more than happy to look at her no matter what she does....
