Wow! I'm glad for Blake and Jordin, but I feel sad about Melinda, she has such a great personality.

I'm not sure if I'm down with Elliot's teeth, dawg. I'm not a fan of veneers, they look like dentures to me, their just a little too perfect for my taste.

Melinda did not fit the mold of fresh/youthful or marketable to sell records.

Her style (adult contemporary/ old style R & B) will not sell records to the mainstream buying public which is younger people.

Melinda is the same in and out. Yes, she can sing well, but is she truly the fresh face of American Idol. Last year they went with an older contestant and look how his sales have panned.

Blake and Jordin are younger hipper and well in one case more original than the other. Of course we've all heard rap/beatboxing before, but lets be honest, when was the last time we heard it on AI prior to Blake.

And a Melinda Jordin final would be a snoozefest!

Melinda will be just fine. The way she pranced around on stage tonight shows how much she has grown. She's a class act all the way and I hope she gets some good songs to record!

Paula said her career was going to take off.

Simon wished them all luck. He was his usual indifferent self.

She'll cut an album, many will buy it, and she'll be successful. Not a doubt in my mind. That said, I'm not surprised she was eliminated. It was time.

OMG!!! I don't even know what to say. I am not really a huge fan of any of the 3 of them (Chris Sligh was my man!) -- but I really thought that Melinda was going to win it. Man, my mother in law almost fell off the couch when they announced that Melinda was going home -- she just could not believe it. So who's it gonna be next week guys? I want it to be Jordin, but think it may be Blake who takes it.

I was definitely NOT expecting Melinda to go; I was extremely surprised when Ryan said she was going home.
I think that she should have made it to the finale; she was the best singer out of the entire top 12, IMO.
I do like Blake and Jordin as well,though, and would have been sad to see either one of them go.
I think that it will still be a very good finale, and I look forward to it!

I stopped voting a couple of weeks ago.
Un****ingbelievable to me.
Oh well, Melinda will have a great career anyway, Blake's creativity will unfortunately be suffocated for a while by the craptastic AI management team and Jordin will go on to sing lots and lots of bubble-gum pop and Whitney anthems.

So who's it gonna be next week guys? I want it to be Jordin, but think it may be Blake who takes it.

My guess is it's going to be a really close vote. I predict Blake will take it because he has a fresh style - though Jordin has a very powerfull voice (for a 17 year old, - had to get that in there). I'm going with Blake.

I'm sad to see Melinda go. Like another poster said, she probably would have benefited most winning AI. I really hope she can parlay this into something great for herself. She really is an unbelievable singer.

Even tho I am rooting for Blake, I'm bummed for Melinda. She is such a nice person, and so talented. What a class act. I know she will be successful, but I'm sad for her tonight.

Then again, I would have been sad no matter who was voted off. I think I most wanted Jordin to go, but if she had gone I would have been sad too.
