Every year I usually only have a few favorites...but this year I've liked everyone except for Melissa and Bucky. So Wednesday's are always going to be a sad day from now on.

Ya know what is interesting? There is nobody to truly dislike this year, unlike last year where people could not stand Scott Savol to the point of almost coming accross violently in their posts. Also no Mykayla. ( thank goodness ;) )

That one black girl who was voted off super early probably would have become that had she stayed.

Even Kellie who seems to be the most "hated" has it a LOT easier than folks in previous years.... And I'm a big fan of "Pickles". :thumbsup2

For me, I don't "hate" him, I just think Ace is mediocre at best. And I don't need any more falsettos in songs that don't need a falsetto.

But overall, a very likeable group this year.

true, i don't listen to country or r&b or gosepl radio. but i also don't hear carrie or josh in department stores/gas stations/grocery stores/clothing stores/etc either. i don't think philly has a big country market.
someone else said they do hear those artists a lot in pittsburgh...maybe i'm just really out of it :confused3

Actually we absolutely do have a big country market. WXTU is the country station east of the Mississippi with the biggest number of listeners. Now that doesn't mean they are the highest rated station, but they do VERY WELL. There are 24 radio stations in the Philadelphia market. They are currently ranked 7th, and have been as high as 5th.

EDIT... west of Harrisburg isn't Pennsylvania anymore.... we call it Pennsyltucky. :lmao: :teeth:

We hear Carrie all the time up here on mainstream radio.

This is the order of who I hear on the radio the most:

Kelly - heard everywhere! My 9 year old is actually sick of hearing her on the radio!
Bo Bice - I hear his song ALL THE TIME! I'm kind of sick of it.
Carrie - "Jesus Take the Wheel" heard a lot on the country stations up here.
Clay - "Invisible" heard a lot on easy listening stations when it came out.
Kimberly Locke - "Eighth World Wonder" was a pretty big song heard it a lot
Fantasia (only when she first won) heard once or twice
Ruben (only when he first won) heard once or twice
Tamyra Grey - "The Dreamer" briefly played

I don't doubt for a second that I will hear from Mandisa again. She has an awesome singing voice and yes, I think she was killed not only by the song that night but that AWFUL outfit. It just was so unappealing on her.... it was also VERY distracting! What is up with these stylists, anyway?????? :confused3

That is what I was thinking. Her voice is amazing, and I could listen to her all night. DD and I were looking at that outfit, and we both agreed that it would be a kiss of death! You know that she never would have chosen the clothes that the stylist chose for her. What are they thinking?

Anyway, Mandisa was one of my favorites, and I am going to miss her.

Mandisa truly has a sweet spirit. I am going to miss her. She handled herself with grace and class.

I was in Wal-Mart doing massive amounts of shopping. I had to leave because I had heard Carrie's Jesus Take The Wheel song one too many times.

I think Mandisa handled herself with grace when she was voted off. I also think that she sounded much better last night than on Tuesday. I think that the reason she was voted off is because although she has a great voice, she usually screamed her way though her songs and she didn't always sing the types of songs that were good for her voice. She will do fine with her career - I have no doubt. Wait until Oprah gets ahold of her. I think I read somewhere that she would love to meet Oprah. If Oprah knows that I can't see how she won't promote this girl.

The contestants do not have to listen to the stylists. Many of them don't. Mandisa is old enough to know what looks good on her and what doesn't, I don't think we can blame the stylists on the bad choice of outfits. Ultimately, they are all responsible for their own decisions whether it is arrangements, song choice, make-up, hair or outfit.

I missed the show last night, got caught up with Lost, and wasn't really too surprised to hear this morning that Mandisa was Kicked off. Yes, she has a better voice than Katherine IMO, but that Outfit she was wearing was BAD!! :sad2: She should have stayed in her black outfits, covering the hips and such. :guilty: However, to know that Elliot was in the bottom 3 didn't surprise me either. I think he will be going next week. ;)

In my Store (Publix) via MUZAK--piped in music. KELLY/CLAY/KIMBERLE--I thought all this time it was Faith Hill singing that song. :confused3 :rotfl: I also hear Michael Buble/Cyndi Lauper/Faith and Tim/Harry Connick/and some Rod Stewart. :thumbsup2 NO Rueben/Fantasia. :confused3

Interesting!! What part of the country are you from? I haven't heard anything from Carrie in stores/on radio around here - I had no idea she had much success until I started reading about it on these boards. I did see Bo on TV the other day, though.

I'm in Western New York State. Carrie is all over the country station and I just heard her new single on one of the "regular" stations. This particular station does play some cross over from country to pop music.

I did see a Bo video on either VH1 or MTV, but haven't heard him on the radio at all. I channel flip while driving. I try to stay with country, but if a yucky song is on...I'm pushing buttons. If the kids are with me, I'm usually listening to their stuff.

Carrie is on the radio (country) all the time! I hear both Jesus Take the Wheel and her new single quite a bit.

Haven't heard much Bo, but was in shock when I heard his song on the big radio station here on Mon. (and a teaser that it was coming up when I was listening the next day)

I hear Carrie everywhere I go (or it seems that way). I hear Kelly Clarkson quite a bit too and I did hear Josh a lot for a while. I've heard Bo a few times and that's about it.

I like to watch CMT sometimes and I see Carrie's video a lot. Josh had a super video on too for a while.

I heard on the radio this morning that Kellie broke a record on Tuesday night...

Her red corset top was the MOST EXPENSIVE article of clothing EVER bought for an Idol contestant. Talk about the pimping of a contestant!

As Dolly Parton once said.....Looking cheap can get real expensive.

I totally agree.....Just thinking about Scott Savol still makes my blood boil!! I still can't stand him. And like you there is no one in this group that evokes nearly as much emotion as Scott did, good or bad. I genuinely like most of the contestants in the finals.

However, that said, This is Chris Daughtery's competition to lose IMO.

I saw somewhere that Mendisa picked her own clothing for the show. I don't know if that changed once they got to the top 10 or not. I don't feel her clothing had anything to do with her getting voted off. I just think when they get down to the top 10 they can't afford to have one bad night because people are judging them on that night unless they have a personality like Taylors. Then people seem to forgive for a couple bad nights. Even Taylor is going to have to pick it up now or I'm afraid his fate will be the same.

I love Dolly's honesty! She's so funny in her interviews too.

Question on song choice - what would happen if 2 contestants chose the same song? :confused3

Thats actually happened twice that I can think of (Josh and Clay in AI2) and I think it happened last season too (For some reason I think Anthony was one of them)

wow...i think i'm just really in denial :rotfl:

ah well...at the end of the day, you're probably not going to see many people walking around center city in cowboy hats and spurs. :p i guess that's all i was trying to say.

I think that's kind of stereotypical. Country music for the most part is the music I listen to and I wouldn't be caught dead in a cowboy hat and spurs unless it was halloween. Just isn't my style.
