I'd love to know if any of them have any music training in college and if so, I'd like to know specifically which college. Just curious. I think they said Katharine had some music training in college, but I couldn't find out which college she attended. Does anyone know how to find out which, if any, college they went to and what they majored in?
I thought she said she went to Boston Conservatory -- same as Constantine.

THANK YOU!! I do *not* understand "McFever". She's a one trick pony and bores the paint right off my walls. Yes, she's beautiful. Yes, she has a lovely voice. But for all the criticism Chris has taken for doing "the same thing" week after week, well, so has she! She sticks to safe, boring song choices week after week, yet people fawn over her. Great big yawn from me. When she's on I leave the room. Bleah.

Yes that's exactly it for me too! Doesn't help that I just don't care for chick singers. I've yet to find a find a female vocalist that doesn't bore the "paint off my walls" (I love that.) I agree that her voice is flawless, but .... so what? She can't perform.

For me it's about passion. It's about getting me excited by the music. The only contestants who really do it for me are Chris and Taylor. The others just kind of stand there and sing. Concert tickets are too expensive to pay for something like that. How did Rod S put it? "You have to grab the audience by the b**ls." He would know.

I don't care for Katharine either. She has a nice voice but she is boring.

Anybody else think that Chris might have a better chance at a rock or alternative career if he DOESN'T win this thing???? After last night he has jumped to my favorite but just wondering :scratchin

ABSOLUTELY....

but I still want him to win :teeth:

I was pleasantly surprised and really liked the show last night - most of them did very good.

Based on last nights performances I think Kellie should go home but I agree with everyone that he fan base will keep her there.

Unfortunately I think Simon is right and that Elliott is going home tonight but I wish it were Kellie or Ace.

Chris was OUTSTANDING!!! :thumbsup2

WHAT fan base does Kellie have? I haven't heard a single person yet who says they like her. She just hasn't been the hands down worst singer yet (like last night). Tonight will be her Waterloo.

Exactly!! I didn't know until Bicker told me that it started out as Pop Idol, but I am glad it is just American Idol because we have different taste in food, clothes, entertainment including music.

I'd be REALLY surprised if Kellie goes home tonight - even though based on last nights performance she certainly should.

I think you're underestimating her. I do think think she has a lot of support out there... and not just the VFTW folks either.

I agree with the statement about "passion"... it makes a difference in everything!

What turns me on about Chris and Taylor is their PASSION for their music and their confidence. It's attractive on anyone!

As a Bucky fan, I can tell you that I did not will not be placing any voted for Elliott. I just don't get him. And I would rather have Bucky there than Elliot or Ace.

The only ones I am voting for now are Taylor, Chris and Kat.

I didn't vote at all!! I probably will be finished this year voting. I enjoy still watching and like some but not the same

I cut and pasted and EDITED the following blog from Vote For the Worst for the DIS audience... :goodvibes It's right on the money!! :rotfl2:

April 18, 2006 - Top 7 - Bewildered Blockhead and the Boozehound --

The Idols rehearsed with Rod Stewart for “standards” night, which meant “standards from Rod Stewart’s albums that we could clear in time for the show and that the music libraries didn’t think you’d screw up too much” night. To give these kids their due, most of them sounded pretty good this week. It sure was a snoozefest of a week for VFTW, but our own little angel shined like no other. She was a steaming pile of dog mess in an otherwise pristine park. And that dog mess was Kellie Pickler.

Kellie decided to tackle “Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered.” First off, can Kellie seriously pronounce and define all 3 of those words? Secondly, that mean old Rod Stewart played a trick on our mink, confusing her into thinking that “lyrics” and “words” were not the same thing. Seriously, who’s writing this stuff? There must be a writer behind this. The girl gets dumber and dumber each week. But all of the pre-song setup was nothing compared to Kellie’s raping rendition of the song. She started off okay, but soon started hitting bum note after bum note. Soon, she lost the tempo and started coming in too early. And by the end, the damage had been done.

The judges hated Kellie’s performance for once, so it was nice to see them actually honestly critique her. After they tongue bathed her for weeks, they really had no choice but to let it rip this time. Kellie even admitted that she “butchered” the song and that she wouldn’t redo it because she didn’t want to put us through it again. But Kellie, this was your shining VFTW moment. We’ll be rewinding our Tivos all week, saying “this is the moment when the morons who couldn’t see it before now realize that Kellie is awful.” My personal favorite part was during the middle of the song when Kellie hit a particularly offensive note. The camera was behind the judges and you can visibly see Simon hang his head and start banging it on the table in disgust. Seriously, go back and watch it, it’s classic. All he could think was, “No!!! My cash cow!!! WHY!!!” Even he couldn’t compliment that song, and Kellie will have to get down on her knees “Bohemian Rhapsody” style even more than normal to get herself back in Mr. Cowell’s favor.

No one else was remotely in Pickler’s league this week. Even Ace wasn’t as bad as normal, but he did pull off his best cafeteria lunch lady look for his performance. And of course, his trademark falsetto made an appearance. Randy and Paula orgasmed over the high notes, saying that they make Ace his money. No, low budget porn films will make Ace his money, so I beg to differ. But hey, even after one of his better performances, Ace is likely headed out the door.

After Ace’s exit, which I am predicting for this week, Kellie stands alone as the worst in the pack. The bottom 3, I believe, will be Ace, Elliott, and a surprise addition of either Chris or Kellie. Looking more womanly than ever didn’t help Ace, because this year they’re looking for a male winner. Make sure someone reminds him of that on his way out the door tonight. And make sure Paula Abdul is locked in her trailer and knocked out with tranquilizers. We wouldn’t want another Corey Clark on our hands, and Ace is desperate enough to even lay the most pathetic boozehound for a record deal. At least you went out on a semi-high note, Ace. Don’t ruin it!

I haven't been online since last night's show, but I was amazed at most of the performances! I think last night was one of the best shows I've ever seen. And what a weird night when Simon has nothing but nice things to say to the first three contestants.

I really enjoyed everyone last night. I definitely noticed that towards the middle of the song, Kellie got ahead of the music, but I don't think her performance was really that bad.

As for the bottom three, I'm sure Ace is going home tonight, with either Chris, Kellie or Paris being the two others in the bottom three. Ace has already been in the bottom 3 three times, so tonight would be his fourth. If he doesn't go home tonight, I think he'd probably have the record for most times in the bottom three. Is there anyone who was ever in the bottom more than 4 times?

I think that tonight's show is going to be the same as they've done the past two years with the top 7. They're going to put 6 of them into 2 groups of 3, and then the 7th person is safe. I think that Taylor is going to be that 7th person, because if he was in any of the groups, his group would be the one that's obviously safe. Either Kellie and Chris will be in separate groups, so it will be hard to pick out which group is the bottom. Or Kellie and Chris will be in the same group and it will be shocking because it turns out to be the bottom 3. That's how I see it happening tonight.

Hello my friend... Chris has been SSB's fave all along, and hoping that he continues on for good while. Good question... seems like he will do OK either way, but maybe safest to win. :)

Bicker...This was your original quote, so I'm not sure how you can change now to say "I only care about what I would buy.
Good thing I didn't. You must have me confused with someone else.

I don't know why Simon keeps saying Elliott has no personality. He's got a lot more personality than Chris, who never smiles or shows much of himself, other than the brooding eye stuff he does for the camera. Elliott seems like a really nice guy to me, and if it were a contest strictly on personality, Elliott would get my vote before Chris.

Dare I dream that Kellie will go home tonite----Or could the Gods be cruel and keep her there for longer-----I have said since day one that she bit---Last week with her horrendous Queen rendition and this week with her flat out absolutely ear bleeding singing----Please Please Please let America be smart and remove her before another person who actually has talent goes home (Mandisa, anyone).

This is one of those times when I wish I could click my heels together and send her back and hopefully get her some education so we don't have to hear anymore ******* comments---If she was one of my kids I couldn't stop myself from smacking her upside her head every time she said something stupid

I haven't seen as much passion from Taylor as I would like. Throwing a bit of drama into the last five seconds of a performance doesn't exactly constitute passion. I want to see them feel the entire song. Taylor has come across as an actor too many times. Passion needs to be heartfelt throughout and I have only seen a few heartfelt Taylor performances. Last night wasn't one of them. However, Taylor seems content to sing fluff and so maybe he would be the best winner.

Do you feel better after taking that load off your chest? ;)

ITA. She is a pretty girl with a nice voice, but if I have to watch her gaze into the camera one more week I think I will scream. I also do not get the "McFever" thing going on.

My bottom 3

Ace
Taylor(I dont get him, he seem like ADHD when he sings)
Kellie

I thinkk Ace finally goes home.
