I want a Taylor vs. Elliot final.
DDs and DH want a Taylor vs. Kat final.

I am dialing non-stop for Elliot on my cell and have gotten through about 5 times.
DD is dialing non-stop for Kat on landline and has only gotten through about 5 times.

I'm voting for Elliot and have only gotten through 10 times in the past hour.

In the past 45 minutes, I've gotten thru only once for Taylor and Elliott. My daughter wants me to vote for Kat, so I will try.

I honestly do not mean to offend, and apologize if I have done so. There have been any number of people on this thread and others that have slammed Taylor, and called him a "spaz" and said that he doesn't have a good voice (wrong). I just laugh at such comments, as I have a very different opinion, and don't much care that they don't agree with me. Obviously, several of you disagree with my opinion that Elliot looks like the guy out of the Leprecaun movies, and that's fine. I don't care that you disagree...so why do so many of you get so touchy that I disagree with you? :confused3

Ok, this is going to look way out of place in the thread since you guys are all chatting about the show right now.

Looks like about 5 minutes until showtime here on the West Coast sooo...
I'll bite.

We all recognize that there many different opinions here. That's a good thing.

But most people understand that their opinion is just that, an opinion. Most often they frame it as such in their posts.
When your opinion is framed as a statement of fact it puts anyone who disagrees with you in a defensive position from the get go.

My opinion is that Elliott has the most vocal ability of any performer left in the competition. (Obviously you and a lot of other folks disagree)
Even so, I wouldn't presume to say he is the most talented.
A lot of things play into talent as a performer and there is a TON of room for subjectivity as well.

It's all a matter of respecting different opinions.

I'm not invested enough in any of the performers to get too upset about anything said about them here - but some people are.

And I do get tired of the name calling and really negative comments. Especially when it's the same thing about the same person over and over and over again.

We get that you don't like Elliott. Really. ;)

OK, I'm off to watch the show now. Carry on.

I have been hitting phone redial at the 05 number since Ryan was saying goodnight. I have been able to vote 76 times so far. I will go a couple minutes with buzys then get thru two times in a row.

I think I have gotten through about a dozen times for both Kat and Taylor. I would like to see them in the finals. I do like Elliot also but have not voted for him. This is the first time I have ever voted in any AI vote!!!

My votes are going to Taylor. Out of the 3 left I think he has the best voice and is entertaining.

I still have a problem though with the 3 left. I really do not see any of them going and and having a great recording career, I just don't see where they will fit into on the charts. With last years winner Carrie Underwood you knew where she would end up and she is very sucessful and doing great. I know there will be a lot of disagreement here, but just my opinion!

I could've sworn that some other AI contestant sang "Try a Little Tenderness" last year, and sure enough, it was Nadia Turner. While I liked Taylor's performace, I REALLY LIKED Nadia's performance last year.

Speaking of Nadia...whatever happened to her? I liked her lot.

very well put Cat's Mom.

I got the impression that everyone should quit voting since "the dolphin" made his prediction.... :stir:

I love all three who are left and wouldn't be upset to see any of them in the final two. If I had to pick though, I would say it should probably be Taylor and Kat, with Taylor winning it all.

My family thinks I'm crazy. Taylor's "Beautiful"...........OMG. I don't think I'll ever be the same. Just proves that you don't have to belt out a song; you have to feel it in your heart. That's what SOUL is baby!!!

Oh and you all need to stay up later to vote. I'm calling and getting through over and over and it's just me and Tay 10:45 EST.

Did a little experiment tonight. For about an hour (this falls into the "get a life" category) I dialed the same number on my cell and on the landline. Never once got through on the cell (which is Cingular, BTW.)

Liking the Dial Idol results - I can sleep now.

I can't get through either... only once... I lot of good that is going to do.

according to dialidol, katherine & elliott are #2 & #3, but RIGHT NOW(10:57) is the closest they've been in the last hour, .434 apart.

agnes!

ETA: 10:59 now they are .372 apart

ETA: arrrrrrrrgh, the suspense is killing me!...11:08 dialidol has them Taylor at #1, then Katherine #2, Elliott #3 .202 apart

Why did Taylor have to be last?? I missed his last song - the dvd recorder stopped taping.

Can anyone tell me what was his last song and how did he do??

I haven't been able to get thru for 5 minutes now...I am guessing they are down. I managed to get 200 votes in. Whew! 70 in the 1st hour, 60 in the next 30 minutes, & 70 in the last 30 minutes. Time for a break! :)

He did "Try a Little Tenderness", originally performed by Otis Redding. I thought he sounded good, but got a little freaky with the moves at the end. But it was a GREAT choice for him.

agnes!

Wow.. what a night of voting!

We ran DialIdol off of our landline and between that and 2 cells we got in a little over 100 votes for Taylor.

I hate to break it to you guys but - take DialIdol with a grain of salt this week. Unfortunately the person that programmed it didn't anticipate 3 phone lines for each contestant and our computers were only set to dial 2 per and there was no time to fix it. So DialIdol is only measuring lines 01,02,03,04,05, and 06. 07,08, and 09 will be a mystery!

I was thinking the same thing about DialIdol. Should be an interesting night tomorrow.

I agree that both of these songs definitely can be oversung, but I completely disagree that they are sad songs. They are both songs of hope and optimism for a better life than what the characters have at the time. There may be some sadness that generates the songs, but I think these are both uplifting songs to Dorothy and Annie. Maybe this is why people sing the last refrains of these with such volume...they really want us to know that they will overcome, with as much voice possible. Personally, I hope Kat really nails the song tonight without oversinging it. It's a great choice for her voice.

Sorry, but I disagree. Both songs are sung at very low, defeated times. They are trying to lift themselves up, but there is still an amount of sadness to each.
