American Idol Season 13 Official Thread

I only started watching after the final 13 were picked and only because we have some local talent. My DD met Malaya at a jazz clinic or something like that - something band related. She was also excited at the shots of Southfield high school because she has a robotics competition there every year. Malaya's personality bugs but my DD is rooting for her so I will too.

I like Jena, but it annoys when they use their first and middle name. It always sounds like they're reprimanding a little kid. Her last name is not all that hard to pronounce. She has more the type of music that I would listen to.

For non-local, I like Jessica and Alex. I didn't see Hollywood week so I came into it without knowing about any drama. I am glad M K is gone. I haven't seen anyone look so miserable and unhappy to be on stage. I know it was just nervousness - but it wasn't entertaining for me to watch.

I think they want too young this year in general. When you have the seasoned performers like David Cook or Kelly Clarkson you are more likely to see a "moment".

I just like Jessica's voice and singing style. reminds me of Crystal Bowersox and Hayley Reinhardt.

I don't know if anyone remembers him but Scott macyintre sang the national anthem tonight at the preds game. He did really well.

They've been deliberately avoiding drama amongst the contestants, making them seem like they're all BESTIES but I remember the show where everyone was mimicking the others. They kept imitating her talking about how she's a broke musician etc, seems like she LIVES off that mantra.

She has about as much personality and charm as Underwhelm, she just might be less broke after this.

Okay.

She just doesn't bother me. And like I've said something about her has grown on me.

All I want to talk about is Jennifer's deep red dress. She just looked fantastic this week. I found a picture but it just didn't do it justice.

Okay, here's my AI obsession. An almost $4000 Lanvin dress. I can't believe it, so not me to adore expensive things. But boy it was gorgeous.

And I have no clue why I needed to post three shots. I guess I'm trying to find one that looked as good as on camera.

I get surveys sent to me regularly from a company that monitors TV enjoyment. The survey today was about AMERICAN IDOL!

I've gotten surveys about shows I have either never watched or have barely watched, this is the first one I answered that I regularly watched. Good thing because if you haven't they give you clips and it can make the survey very long.

Some of the questions:

Do you wish the contestants were more talented?

Do you wish the contestants had more personality?

Are the top contestants too young?

They asked specific questions about the judges, also. They also showed pics of the former shows and asked me to rate them.

The best part, they asked me to answer a list of descriptions and tell them if they applied to the VOICE or AMERICAN IDOL, neither or both:

Exciting

Enjoyable

Boring

Cool

Entertaining

Fun to watch ... etc.

I guess you can guess how I answered these, also!

The best part was when they gave me freedom to express what I liked and didn't like about this season. OMG they got an earful!
