American Idol Season 13 Official Thread

I'm in. I'm definitely look forward to Keith and Harry. JLo - not so much. But she can't be worse than last year's train wreck.

I'm hooked on American Idol, The Voice, Xfactor and Sing off and can't carry much of a tune myself. But have been pretty close on figuring out who is going to make it.

My husband laughed when I told him this thread started.

Can anyone tell me about the American Idol attraction at Hollywood studios? When I went in November I could not convince my husband to check it out with me. Seems there was a lot I missed on that trip for various reasons. I'm going back in 3 weeks and was debating about Hollywood studios as the trip is short and I have a lot to get to in the other parks. Is there an audience part or is that only on the screen outside? What time does things happen?

When I saw this thread I thought to myself, hmmm I wonder if I will be able to allow myself time in the parks on the night(s) Idol is on or will I be in my room watching it? It's early enough in the season I might be ok to skip the tv time. :lmao:

Glad to have people to share my interest with.

I didn't make it to the end of either The Voice or X-Factor this year so we'll see if I can make it through Idol. I do love J-Lo and I think Harry Connick Jr. will be a great addition. Based on his past mentoring on the show, he's going to be honest.

robin, what is the Jessica Sanchez fiasco?

You go into a large auditorium with cushy seats and air conditioning. There are three performers and the audience votes. The winner competes in the end of the day show against all of the other winners of the day. The winner of that show gets a golden ticket which allows them a "fast pass" to perform in front of the judges in any city for a chance to make to boot camp and the live shows of American Idol.

There have been past winners that have made it into the top 10. I don't remember who they are off the top of my head, but someone here might remember.

Hi all! I am here and ready to watch. I just hope they don't try and force feed us another year with only the type of singer that fits their agenda. I am still loving Philip Philips. He has had a couple of really good songs. That is especially sweet after all of the garbage they tried to feed us on how much better Jessica Sanchez was.

I haven't started one so you're good to go!

I'm ready! I'm ready for all the dang changes! :cool1:

There's a preview here but you couldn't pay me to go to the theater it's at without a bottle of very strong vodka.
Mandy, where is the local theater? I got the email but didn't notice where it was being sown.

Good to know about Candice. I can't imagine why Kree hasn't been signed yet, wow! :(

It seems like it's taken a l-o-n-g time this time for the winner's album to come out. That happened with X Factor too. I hate it when the new season starts and the winner's album hasn't even come out yet.

Umg passed on her. It's hard to be a female in county especially with traditional Stylings of music. Candice's album has because I believe of lack of single success.

If they go same theater as last time it will be green hills. I can't think of them having it elsewhere maybe Opry but that's it.

I'm actually looking forward to a Mariah/Nicki/Randy Dog FREE season! :worship:

Just wondering if anyone was invited to this preview:

I checked and the preview is VERY near my home so I rsvp'd! We'll see if I can make it there by 6pm ..:car:

Looking forward to my favorite thread of the year! :grouphug:

Yes, but how will we know now when somebody is "in it to win it"?

Confused. So there are set times during the day for each 3 performers and then the end of the day is yet another audience and show of the winners of the day???? I assume the contestants come from people at the park?

I don't mind sitting through one set, but I don't think I want to commit to waiting until the end of the day for the finals. Do they show what is going on inside on that big screen I seem to remember outside?

Ok wasn't planning to go to DHS but now might just pop over for that.
We'll see. This is a short visit for me so not sure I want to do that yet.

I'm ready and I'm actually excited about this year. BIG fan of HCjr! I have a feeling we are going to be more entertained by the judges than by the singers!:rotfl2:

Today was press junket day for Idol so they released a bit of information if anyone is interested in it I will post it. News was released as far as schedule, back up band and singers, information concerning the Dawg (sorry yall!).

the spoilers that were reported earlier on some blogs are actually false for the most part.
