Did Ryan, say the judge are going to decide who goes home tonight?

yeah, as I understood it, there will be 2 in the bottom tonight. One from the girls and one from the guys. The judges will then decide which of those 2 gets sent home. So America's votes put them in jeapordy, the judges put the final nail in the coffin. I think it stinks because I think it should not be girl/guy at this point...the bottom 2 overall. I mean, say Shannon is the lowest girl, but she still has way more votes than say the 2nd bottom guy. Does it go non-gender voting at the top 10?

didn't someone else want to sin gthe I will always love you song?

FINFAN, last night it was in teh 80's but it has been COLD....(to me, a native) been in the 60's in the am and Tuesday night it was freezing, we were out at saoftball with blankets!

I was pleasantly surprised at how many of the performances were good, and some even great! Not as many out right stinkers as I was expecting or have been in years past.

Best of the night for me was Jessica--worst was a tie between Heejun, Deandre and that chubby guy that got the save that crys all the time..

.....ITA with 'Jessica'...however, not so much with your guys' picks [BTW ~ that 'chubby' guy is Jeremy - I didn't think he did that great either :confused3 ]

....okay - so, can anyone explain to me why they make the 'theme' of the show an artist which NO ONE can deliver (well, except mebbe Jessica) and then compare them unfavorably to that artist? Why would they give the girls Whitney Houson songs? Personally, I think all the girls held their own - well, with the exception of that tall girl and Elise...

After years of hearing the judges say not to do Whitney, Celine, Mariah...it's suddenly OK for them to choose this theme. :confused3

My top 3 - Jessica, Phil Philips and Erika

My bottom 3 - Elise, Shannon and Jeremy.

I wonder if with a top 13 if the judges will send the bottom guy home, just to even it off between the remaining girls and guys.

I hate the judges are choosing who goes home. I wish they would just let America vote.

Seriously, do you think they actually choose who is voted for? :rolleyes1

When they said that I was :confused3, I don't think the 3 of those so called "judges" have made a non producer decided move in the entire time since they sold their souls to that company.

At this point in the competetion they need to cast the tour. They need to place those 10 people based on fanbase and ticket sales. They would not leave that to chance.

I'm sure they use the vote counts in their marketing decisions but as for the bottom line, not a chance. They owe too much to their advertisers.

and then talk about "making the song your own" and "not making the song your own." i really felt for Elise because they basically sabotaged her by giving her a song she did not know. and really, nobody else "made the song your own," so i don't know why she was expected to. i'll give you that it wasn't great, but i thought they were a bit harsh.

i felt like last night was just basically karaoke. granted, they were mostly good karaoke versions, but nobody did anything NEW to any of the songs. and, while i think Jessica has an amazing voice, there is something missing for me. it's kind of like Pia last year. she's nice to listen to, but i don't find her compelling. she doesn't draw me into her performance.

AMEN! :worship:

You said in words what I was feeling.

I loved the studio version but her performance last night was almost as if she was imitating Whitney's song. Good imitation, shows her vocal prowess but boring.

She is definitely another Pia. Technically correct, just doesn't have that, pardon the pun, X FACTOR! :lmao:

On the other hand, PP, Joshua, Skylar and Colton definitely have IT. I think the whole package needs to go to the final, not just singing talent.

But then again, the IT people don't always make it to the end. :guilty:

i was going to say "x-factor"! ha!

for me, you can have the greatest voice in the world. however, if you don't draw me in, i'm not going to buy your CD. i need to be drawn to the person and not just the voice.

of the girls, i really think Skylar is the best as a whole (voice plus it-factor). and i don't even like country. i love Elise's voice, but she has NO self-confidence. she's got the same "deer in headlights" look as Lauren last year. and Hollie doesn't have "it" either.

...I still don't get how she made it to the Top 13....:confused3

thir-TEEN.....they needed to have the opposite of Jessica, the other teen draw. I know Skylar is there, but she filled the country slot. Afte they saw how many watched country Idol last year, no way were they going to forget about that demographic, plus they had a blonde, brunette and redhead, lol.

And not ONE African American girl... I guess we're not a demographic they worry about...:rolleyes1

I like Skylar, too... and i HATE country. But I really like HER!:thumbsup2 She has confidence, I was surprised how young she is. She is so comfortable in her world.
