they just did a story on Elise (she's local). they interviewed a little girl who is one of her students. first, the little girl is SO cute. second, she could out-sing most of the top 24 on AI!

Well, other than losing my precious Reed (through no fault but his own..his song choices STUNK out loud! What WAS that song he did?? If he had just sung a song, he would have made it)...I'm loving the final 13. All my peeps made it through. I am stymied how Deandre and Jermaine made it in there and really thought Eben would get a spot just to keep little girls watching.

Makes you wonder if it was done on purpose to NOT get through...second thoughts about getting into the Idol machine once the top 10/13 are picked. He had to know that wasn't going to be a good showcase for him.

I'm alright with the top 13.

Colton---I don't mind his voice, will depend on the song.

Heejun---Same with him.

Deandre---I really like his voice when he uses his lower register. But when he goes all high....

Erika---This is another one I think her voice is okay, depends on what she sings

Shannon---I like her voice.

Jessica---This one can sing

Elise---I like her too

Jeremy---I think he's okay just not sure why Jennifer is all crazy for him

Hollie---I like her

Jermaine---While he's not my cup of tea, he does have a nice low voice but I think it depends on the song for him. Don't see him lasting too long

Joshua---I really like him

Phillip---He's another one I really like

Skylar---Like everyone else says....she's like a mini Reba. I think she'll stay for a while though. We'll see how she does with other genres though.

I'm a little sad that Adam didn't make it through. I really enjoyed his voice. And like everyone else I am SO GLAD that Brielle and her mother are adios!!! Couldn't stand them even from the beginning. I noticed after she didn't make it into the top 10, she was just sitting in the bleaches and not clapping for the other people. She's just nasty!!! And I'm SOOOOO that the judges basically just shot her down after she sang her wildcard song.

As for Creighton, I'm sad he didn't make it. I really liked his voice. A little different. He reminded me of Sam Harris (remember Star Search back in the 80's) But Reed? While he was talented and could play all kinds of instruments and could "scat", I just don't think this was the best place for him. And he was a little too odd for me. LOL

I love him too, Robin! I don't understand why so many people don't. I agree totally with Jimmy Iovine. The kid has ENORMOUS potential, but needs some coaching /training. He will get lots throughout this competititon.

That said, my husband can't stand him either, so our household is divided!

i don't think i remember your ever not being nice. the thing is, you can disagree without being nasty. and we've certainly disagreed (or, like different things, if you will) without being nasty.

Last year I was uber ticked off about the "country" theme and I showed it. Everyone has a right to their opinion, and sarcasm is my way of showing it. That's the problem with the internet, no knows your tone or your attitude, so it comes off the way you read it. Sorry if I offended anyone.

OTOH, I dealt with some serious nastiness on these threads especially during the Fantasia and Ruben years... I never personalized it because I like what I like and understand if you don't. Nasty remarks about gospel and church, single Moms and genre that I was alone in liking. Last year someone got pissed and called Scotty "her guy".. I may like the heck out of someone but they're not my "guy". We can be a fan without being fanatic...ya know what I mean? No one's child is being discussed here.

Whatev... looks like I'm going to have to listen to more vitriol than I give out this year , another Mantasia year. There is really no one on the group I cannot STAND. I even like Skylar because for some strange reason, I love Reba McEntyre! Did I just SAY that???

My son won't even watch the show with me...he's so ANTI AI!! He's a singer and he thinks it's all fake. Can't say I totally disagree with that, it's just a show, after all!

I realized I have to be lenient on my judging since the band/backgrounds keep overpowering the singers I don't know that I am hearing the same as the rest of you.
I am curious if JLo brought Jeremy back in curiosity of how well he does, since she and MarcAnthony have their own Latina Idol type show starting. Since the kid couldn't be trying out for both shows, but maybe she would have chosen him for hers if he had been there instead of Idol? He is adorable, reminds me a lot of one of DS good friends-he's good so far at the ballad stuff, but not so sure he has the strength. Guess we will see! Is the show back to Wednesday next week, anyone know? Like, say, Mandy?
