Well that definitely would have been a show with alot of ATTITUDE (i.e., "Missy" Haley) in it that's for sure.

I was SO looking forward to this finale (for once) and it didn't disappoint.

I am voting like crazy for Lauren as usual. I think she won tonight, hands down.

I really like Scotty too so I'll get over it if he won but I'll be cheering for Lauren.

I really did not like Scotty's last song. It was kind of dumb. Something you'd hear a 2 year old say. Lauren's song tug at my heart and was beautiful.

Off to continue with my online voting. Go Lauren!

i thought Lauren performed better tonight. i thought she had the better single. but i was still completely underwhelmed by both of them tonight. blah. i think it's pretty much Scotty's to lose though. i could be wrong, but he seems to have had the bigger following this season.

David Cook was the best part of the night. at least, they ended with something good.

Awww...Lauren strained her voice. I guess TPTB want Lauren to win, since they've highlighted the sob story. Sooo typical. I guess they were afraid Scotty would win.

The GREAT thing for me tonight is that I can relax and enjoy the show since I really don't care who wins (though I did call Lauren as the winner after her very first audition with "Don't wanna Miss a Thing"...just sayin' )


On with the show!

SCOTTY: (Gone) Scotty starts us off with a pedestrian country fried helpin' of twang. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't special either.

LAUREN: (Flat On The Floor) Once more she looks like a complete deer-in-the-headlights. Why doesn't she think herself capable?? Her voice is actually miles better than Scotty's. You actually can hear the strain in her voice. She may not make it if she keeps pushing herself tonight.


Round one goes to Lauren for me.




SCOTTY: (Check yes or No) I dig Scotty with the guitar. It looks so much better than him holding the mic so oddly, and he can't wander around giving creepy looks. This song is excrutiatingly appropriate given his age. It's another sweet-tea drenched Nashville-style super sap fest. It does work on him though.

LAUREN: (Maybe It Was Memphis) In that dress she looks like an oversized Jonbenet Ramsey. Pass the collard greens and biscuits. On a serious note, she's good here and her voice sounds better (less strained).


Round two goes to Lauren again IMO.



SCOTTY: (I Love You This Big) Scotty's potential first single...It's a cute song, though there's an annoying note right in the chorus I can't place my finger on. I think it works for him and he looks great. A fine effort...particularly since it was less twang-tastic than his usual schtick. Good job.

LAUREN: (Like My Mother) Well here we see shameless pandering by the PTB to the mom-vote. A HEFTY demographic. It's a terrific little song and she's singing the heck out of it AND OMG SHE"S SINGING TO HER MOMMY! Well folks...there's your American Idol.

Wow.

Tomorrow evening, Lauren Alaina will be crowned the winner of American Idol season 10.

Of course I thought the night went to Scotty. Lauren's first song was horrible and she did sound sick. her second song was actually excellent but you could still here her sickness alittle. I didn't feel the third song. I didnt like how the judges obviously favored Lauren, Scotty deserved some standing ovations this year but never got them. Stephen obviously just wants to get inside Lauren's pants so of course he loves her.


Ive been voting online for Scotty but have yet to get through on phone lines, Im hoping that is a good sign! I still think Scotty is going to win because I feel he is mor populare.

Same thing happened to Clay in Season 2. That's why I wish the judges wouldn't predict a winner. It's basically a vote against them.

I would have still watched but I wouldn't be posting any positive comments. It would be turned around and my comments would be the same as what have been posted here about Scotty and Lauren being in the finals.

I didn't realize David Cook was singing at the end of tonight's episode. I shut it off right after they started doing the recaps. Oh well...probably not missing much...not a huge fan.

Nope-- you really didn't miss much at all--he just butchered one of my favorite songs, that was about it.

I like both of the finalists, but I thought the show was boring tonight. I think Lauren definitely has the better single though. How can you go wrong with a song about your mother? Looking forward to tomorrow night's show.

Oh yeah! I couldn't bring myself to watch, but I kept turning back to see DC! I also knew from the minute Steven Tyler said they had just found their winner that they had just found their winner because the producers wanted a young, marketable girl. I don't think anyone else ever really had a chance of winning. Like Robyn, I personally know how manipulative the TV business can be. It's all for profit first, entertainment second.

I saw that too, and my DS said "those 2 should be dating", lol...but he was just walking thru the room. If Scotty was saying something along those lines, it doesn't surprise me. All the way back to Hollywood week when the group challenge teams got ugly, he was torn apart over how things went down with Jacee. While I am not a big fan of country, I don't dislike it either...the best part of the season was getting to enjoy some cool and pleasant performers. I still like Casey's stuff.

I thought that Lauren was better tonight even with the voice problems. I thought that Scotty's reaction to the judges giving the edge to Lauren was nice. He seemed to genuinely be happy for her. It is probably easy to be that way when you are the front runner.

I am not sure if he is the front runner, but I do think he is happy with his accomplishments so far..and I think he is ok winning or not winning. It's sort of effortless for him, like he is there for the experience. To me he comes across like if he wins, great, if he doesn't that's cool too. He gives a vibe that just being in the top 10 is already feeling like a winner, seems very sincere. He is the anti-drama, lol.
