Jack Black? I love him and think he's very funny, but it seems like they could find a true recording artist to sing in the finale. I'm sure he'll make it entertaining, but I'm still ???

Jack Black is a true recording artist, he's the frontman of Tenacious D. I'm pretty sure they are the world's second best band, only behind Spinal Tap

I have not read all of the most recent posts but last night was one of the best shows, everyone truly stepped up their game.

I won't talk about James because my fear is he is going to be the shocker tonight and get kicked off, he'll do better anyway because he is really a true artist and he proved it last night.

I have no respect for Haley at all, if I was the artist and got a "phone call" from this kid on a TV show that wanted to sing a song that is unreleased! I would flip out so I can totally understand why the judges said what they did.

There were a TON of other Lady Gaga songs she could have chosen, so that was weird, unless it was Jimmy getting her back from that remark she made about him last week or the week before.

Her second song was amazing, but she just doesn't have that star power in a total package.

James does and proves it week after week.

sorry i've been MIA. we have been in the processing of moving in/out with a brief stay with my parents in between. shew!

anyway, i honestly don't see any of these contestants being huge stars. i just don't. that's not to say that they aren't talented. but i don't see a Kelly or Carrie here at all.

and James was HORRIBLE last night. my DH, who is not musically inclined said, "am i wrong or is this really bad?" i told him that it was, but that the judges would praise him up and down. and they did. i wish they'd be honest. i truly miss having Simon as the one who would just be honest. i was hoping Randy would step it up, but he's mostly soft.

Jacob was also horrible. Lauren was half/half. Scotty was Scotty. i thought that Haley sang both of her songs well, even though i'm not drawn to her. i just don't think she has "it." but really, i don't think any of them do.

And every time Randy tries to give a little constructive criticism, JLo starts undermining what he says and blabbing over him and getting the audience involved, too. It's a wonder he even tries anymore.

I believe Haley said she would only feel right singing the song if it was OK with Lady Gaga. I doubt if she felt she could just pick up the phone and say, "Hey, Gaga, it's Halez. I'm chillin over here in LA, and look, I think I'm big enough to do one of your songs. Better yet, I wanna do one that you haven't even released." Come on! She said Jimmy Iovine came to her with the idea. Now why he came up with that, or what his motives were, I have no idea. But I'm sure that if Haley had decided not to take Jimmy's suggestion, people would be slamming her for being so arrogant that she doesn't need guidance. Once again, I just don't get the hate. Has she killed small animals or something and I just haven't heard about it?
