My brother has Aspergers. I think this kid is just pulling for the sympathy votes.

I know a guy who has Tourette's.

These people who have no jobs...I refuse to believe that there isn't a McDonald's job somewhere.

And why is he doing the same thing as his dad did?

He's way too much of a crier for me.

McDonald's might not be hiring right now... who knows... I know our Bojangles store isn't but there's one that should be as they need help badly. But the manager there doesn't want to hire anyone...

A month or so ago I read a story in People about a girl,
can't remember her name but she has a book out, her father
killed her whole family. She was 3 years old at the time and
survived days in a dump where he had dumped her and her sisters.
The story said she tried out for AI in California, she lives in Sonoma. I fully
expected to see her tonight. Anybody hear this story? Wish I had written
down her name but thought her stoy would be on the show.

It's darn well possible it was being saved for best of the rest and now is sitting on the editing floor since it's been knixed. If she did make it, I'll have the list tomorrow to post and I can dig for information.

He was good guys. It is the rock singing style, screaming. That was just an audition so he should be better with an actual song.

I liked him too. I am also a huge fan of Adam, so the screaming doesn't bother me.

I agree. Two of my friends have kids with Aspergers. That boy really was too emotional for a typical Aspie. He may have many issues, but that doesn't seem like an appropriate diagnosis for him.

The show was ok. I did NOT like the girl with the guitar, her voice was annoying to me.

The screamer guy, he seemed like a good guy but I wasn't an Adam Lambert fan because of the screaming, mainly because he always had his tongue hanging out. I don't know, I'll have to hear him sing a normal song before I make up my mind about him.

I'm excited for Hollywood week to start. Does anyone know if it's going to be the same process, like eliminating rooms and group songs, etc?

BTW, DH got me a laptop for VD and it's so nice to DIS from the couch! (Although it took me forever to type this post because I'm not used to the keyboard! )

The guy with the Tourettes definitely has Tourettes. You could see him winking/wincing his left eye pretty uncontrollably. I suppose that's one of his "tics". As for whether or not he has Asperger's, I would say he absolutely does. He almost couldn't even talk to the judges without crying and turning bright red. In my DAILY work with the intellectually disabled, I've seen Autistics and Aspies in every imaginable range of functionality. One of my current students has a diagnosis, but unless you knew about the dx you'd never guess she was "disabled".

They aren't all "Rain Man" or the lawyer from Boston Legal.

As for his voice. It was all right. Reminiscent of Adam LAmbert, but not quite that good. And I nearly busted a guy when the girl at the top of the show was crying about being excused after farting.

sorry i'm late to the party.

the screaming guy didn't bother me, but i didn't think he was the best they've heard. and not all rock guys scream. i don't remember david cook screaming like that. or chris daughtry.

anyhoo, the girl with the guitar had an interesting voice, but i couldn't take an entire album of it. it was very old school, but still. her second song was better.

i'm ready for them to get them narrowed down so we can start hearing people more. i hate that we never see so many that make it to Hollywood.

....one of my early faves is the 'Simply Red' kid from Florida who sang Bohemian Rhapsody ....and I also liked the voice (not the girl so much) of the girl who got adopted by that older white couple who lived on the farm...and the girl with the cousin Holly who had a brain tumor [she sang one of Steve Tyler's songs with him]...

hmmm good find, but the name of the girl in the article, Carmina Salcido, is not on Mandy's list of the Hollywood bound, which is odd.
