i understand that, but as i said....it's CLEARLY not always the case with the whole "image" thing. there's actors like that too. i could name quite a few actors who aren't perfect 10's but yet they still get movie/tv show roles.

Yep, a lot of the time talent has far more to do with things than just looks.

true..but I think the point she was trying to make was that looks shouldn't come into play if they can sing..so the judges shouldn't focus on that so much.

The first person I always think of is Jim Croce....amazing singer...not much to look at.


Maybe what the judges should really be trying to get across is getting the people to be more confident in their talents..cause as they get more confident they will change their hair/dress/makeup etc.

exactly!! if you have confidence and talent, it doesn't matter how you look.

i wish the judges would focus on that, more than "omg your clothes are awful! your hair is so frizzy!" ugh...who cares??

When I say star quality I'm not saying they have to be 10's, they just have to have a great voice and a great personality. Freddy Mercury was unattractive, but his personality and amazing voice drew you in and made him sexy. I haven't seen anyone yet with that draw. Though few people with that have ever been on Idol.

wow 18? was it her choice or hers to not drive until now??

i was definatly already driving by 16, but i had a job and my parents didn't feel like driving me around to there and other places since they had jobs and things going on, too.
