American Idol Christmas

What did you think?

It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Kimberly, Rueben and Clay just blew Kelly and the other two girls ( I can't remember their names) away. I had hoped to see more people from the American Idol shows than the six we saw.

It was good to see the American Juniors but I still think that they need another boy to round off the group.

But I did like the finale. Maybe the CD will sound better.

I saw it. Kimberly Locke was better then I remembered her. She has a great voice, I loved her duet with Rueben - those two compliment one another well.

I also love Clay, he is so talented - not just as a singer, but as a performer in general. He's a natural host.

I'm not so sure about those from the first season, as I didn't watch, but they were nowhere near as good as those from the 2nd season. I did like Kelly's version of O Holy Night. Question, though, is Kelly pregnant? My DH asked me that last night, and I wasn't sure. She sort of looked pregnant in that red dress, but maybe it was just a bad choice of outfits???

Snoopy, I thought the same thing about Kelly. I couldn't tell if it was the dress, but it looked like there was a little pouch there.

Kimberly Locke was incredible. I thought that she might take the title near the end of the show. Can't wait for season 3 to start.

Told my husband she looked about 4 months pregnant in that red dress..but I think it really was the dress..her butt looked huge in that one also..but in the black and the white outfits..she looked much slimmer!..that skirt..and I use term loosely..that either Trenyce or Christina was wearing..wasn't that a little short to be considered an outfit for a 'family show'?..their wardrobe tastes leave something to be desired..and what was up with Ruben's tongue?..he was either eating something blue or green..but it looked gross..lol!
As always..Clay looked and sounded awesome!

I liked the show last night, but honestly, I wasn't blown away and I can't put my finger on why. Ruben's tongue made me laugh! Does anyone remember those jelly blueberry candies that always turned your tongue blue? I wonder if he had a couple before the show! He sounded great though. He sure sweats on stage though. I find myself worrying that he's going to pass out. Kimberly Locke was fantastic! What a voice! I thought Kelly was good, but for some reason I didn't like her performances as much as the rest. Tamyra was good, but I thought she was off key a couple of times. Eek. I don't even remember that Christina girl. I didn't tune into American Idol 1 until halfway through so maybe she was voted off before I started watching? Of course, Clay was wonderful at both performing and hosting! I loved his final joke of the night about being Ryan Seacrest!

I enjoyed it, for the most part.

Kelly sounded ok, but just didn't seem to be "into it" - she just went through the motions, IMHO.

The Juniors were cute - I didn't watch that series, though.

Loved Clay, Ruben & Kimberley - thought Tamyra definitely outsang Kelly, and seemed to at least be having a good time.

Clay was a great host - he has the gift of gab, so it was the perfect job for him.

I enjoyed it but would have wanted to hear more Clay He did wonderful when he did perform though! Kimberly Locke did VERY well, and I really enjoyed listening to her. Trenyce did excellent and I thought Christina did okay. Kelly did well, but she didn't stand out as much. Ruben was decent. The American Juniors didn't quite fit in...didn't care for the song choices for them...just seemed like they were more of a time filler
Anyway, I think Clay stood out so much. He did an excellent job hosting and he just did everything well. He outshone everyone, with KLo in close second. I wish it was longer!!! I was also hoping to hear Clay and KLo sing Silver Bells, but they didn't.

They all did a good job with their parts, and I was surprised that the American Juniors were there (they were cute). But I expected to see all the finalists from both seasons, so I was a little bit disappointed over that but overall great show. And I agree with everyone that Clay made a great host, and he had some pretty funny jokes.

Kelly is not pregnant. Trust me, anytime any one of the D.J.'s here in DFW try to say anything to that effect on the air, a ton of her friends call in and tell them they need to shut it because they know that is NOT true and that she is a virgin. The people of Burleson are very defensive of their star and don't let the radio stations talk gossip about her without them defending her!

I think I have heard her in an interview talk about how people wanted her to loose weight and she told them I do not need to loose weight, I am a normal woman's size. And she is right. In my opinion she is a normal healthy weight. Unlike these little 85lb "Pop Stars" we have running around.



The Show was good, but I didn't care for the American Juniors. LOVED LOVED LOVED Kimberly!

I enjoyed the show for the most part last night but would have loved to have heard our Canadian Idol Ryan Malcom sing a little more than the one song, and be included in the "all cast" numbers.

CBRorBust - i agree with you. Kelly may not be the skinniest person, but she is prettier and way more talented then some of the other singers out there.

sammi - Did they show a Canadian Idol Christmas special last night too? I knew they had a Canadian Idol, I'm just a little shocked (for some reason but I don't know why) to hear that they had a Christmas special on the same exact night.

No they didn't show a Canadian Idol Christmas but Ryan Malcom was on the American Idol Christmas show last night and sang Let It Snow. I just wish they would have included him in more of the songs as his voice is incredible.

I was wondering if our American friends could answer a question for me. Did you all see the Canadian Idol Ryan Malcolm sing last night during the 1hr Christmas American Idol special? His performance was during the middle of the hour long show. I'm wondering if only Canadian viewers saw him sing from the Canadian TV channels. I've read lots of comments about the show on various message boards and haven't really heard much about Ryan. Thanks for any info.

I was really excited about the Xmas special but I must confess I was very disappointed. It seemed to me none of them were at their very best.

Why would Rubin wear a leather jacket and then the hooded white jacket? He appeared to be very warm? At the end Tamara is standing in the falling snow wearing a halter type top...that looked kind of out of place to me.

It should be illegial for anyone other then Bing Crosby to sing White Christmas. I love Clay and KLo but they blew it---bigtime

Just heard that Justin Guarini pulled out because of some dealings with the label. I didn't catch the whole story---

I have to disagree, I thought they did wonderful, but everyone has their own opinion

I think that Clay showed he really has the most talent. He seemed so at ease both in his singing and in hosting. Great job.

Kelly to me seemed like she thought she was better than everyone. She only did the one number with everyone else at the end. I wasn't blown away by her at all.

Ruben is a good singer but seems to lack the "it" that makes a performer great.

I think Kimberly did a great job as well.

The Juniors were cute but I didn't watch that show so don't really know much about them.

I didn't see the special(someone was kind enough to remind me not to watch it) but I did see the American Idol show when it was on. Once they start doing that cornball musical stuff I get sick! To each his own.

I'm glad Kelly isn't giving in to the pressures of the business. I think women look a lot better when they look curvy and well fed(not to an extreme, though). Kelly looks fine. Her problem is that she looks terrible without make-up on. Her eyes have bags around them.

Either way those kids will never make any real money until they get away from the people that are using them for their own profit.
