I love the new kitchen. Now that, I'm jealous of. Not Kim Caldwell.

I'm pretty excited about the kitchen. Especially since the kitchen we have in our apartment is horrible. Here's a photo. Don't mind the mess. We hate this place so it's a disaster right now. Oh, and that's ALL the cabinets we have (plus one by the sink) so there's always stuff just sitting around because there's no room for it anywhere else.

I found this on TWOP. The "dinner date" occurred with a few other people tagging along. I'm convinced now that they've been going out for a while and this was their way (or the public relations people way) of putting it out there. If she has kept quiet about it for a few weeks, then I have a bit more respect for her. (laceygate)

The dinner thing doesn't bother me THAT much but after doing some reading it sounds like this isn't actually all that new and makes me see Kim's comment about them running off to Mexico before the tour in a different light. I thought that was a joke before - now I'm not so sure.

Mary -- thanks for posting the link. I needed something to knock him off that pedestal and that was it. Dating someone like her is no better in my eyes than hanging out at Hef's mansion every weekend. And then there is the fact he "outs" them as a couple THE DAY after the voting ends. I can't take credit for that connection but someone on the TWOP and AI forums did and it makes me think Hmm... that is a wee bit calculating on his part. Maybe he isn't such a nice guy after all.

Then I'm glad my computer protected me and shut down when I tried to watch that video. Or it could be the slow "high speed" internet here at Wilderness Lodge. But I'd like to think my computer is looking out for me. Hey, if I can dream about some 25 year old singer, I can dream that my computer is real too.

I watched it. It looked like he was being really sweet to her and her family. Made me love him even more. I GUESS it's OK for him to date, as long as I'm still married anyway.....

I don't see it as him calculating it as much as the show telling them what they can and can not say while they are in the competition. I think they are very controlled on that show and are only allowed to really hang out with people who are connected to it in some way. I do think that the Lacey thing may have gone in a different direction if her publicist didn't get involved. If I were that girl, I'd be kicking myself for letting the big one get away. But, maybe that all came out with Lacey because DC took things in a different direction. (maybe DC started seeing KC around that time- I'm just speculating though)

For example, KLC's engagement actually happened a few weeks before it was announced on Idol Extra. They (the powers that be) kept that under wraps.

So, my guess is that DC gets some time off before the tour starts and his personal plans can't be kept hidden. So, AI is going on the offensive. Depending on the TMZ spectacle of it all, I can see it hurting the AI tour but not Cook's future as an artist. If he puts out a good album, the true fans will be there.

I guess his break-up with the fans was inevitable. It just seems so "the first chance I get, I'll announce it" weirdness to me.

About David and Kim...if he wants to date her, there isn't any stopping it. We can assume about her all we want. Personally, I don't care for her. But it's not like I can control what he does or who he dates, so there is no reason for me to get worked up about it. I like him, I like his music. If they last, great. If they don't last...even BETTER!

But it wasn't a secret she had a boyfriend. I don't see why they'd go out of their way to hide an engagement. But for whatever reason you are right that they did wait to go public with that. Her proposal on AI extra did not appear to surprise to HER... that is for sure!

I just find it hard to believe TPTB would be controlling over something like that. Many of the people in the top 10 are engaged or married. What is the big deal (to them) if DC started dating someone or if KLC got engaged?

He IS going to date. He's young and single. I just think the way this came out AND the timing of it was not the best PR move ever. Don't pretend you just met when you didn't. And SHE needs to keep her ever lovin' mouth CLOSED with all her neener neener crap.

Okay - thanks. well, at least that Lacey person has talent in her dancing but I just watched Kimberly Caldwell interview him after the finale and she is so obnoxious! She interrupted him a million times! I think my opinion of her lessened even more. I think this will be a passing interest. She is too much of a bleached blonde bimbo like Tara Reid or someone like that. Not to be a total witch but he can do waaaayyyy better than her! She probably has to look up most of the words he uses!

Well, it wasn't supposed to seem like a surprise that her boyfriend proposed on Idol Extra. Actually, on the show they talked about when he REALLY proposed to her and then he basically re-proposed since he wasn't able to get down on one knee. Or something like that.

Actually, that's not Lacey. I think her name was Lauren. Lacey has a little solo at about 25 seconds. She is also the girl that does the end pose with DC.
