We are taking my 7 year old daughter to the American Girl store in Dallas in early November to pick out her first American Girl Doll. We live about an hour away and we plan on having brunch or lunch there also. I have a few questions for all you American Girl experts!

1. She has browsed the catalog and online and right now is leaning towards Lanie, the Girl of the Year. Is it likely that they store will have an ample supply of Lanie or should I prepare her to either pick another doll or order online?

2. How long should we plan to shop? We want to buy a doll and a few accessories and then eat in the Bistro. If we get to the store when they open at 9:00, what time should I make reservations?

3. Are there ever any deals in store purchases? I have received a few free shipping codes via email. Is there anything available for in store?

4. We walked through the store a couple of years ago when we were at the Galleria for another event. It was hard to get to from the mall. Where should we park for the best access?

Thanks for any help you can offer! We are bringing both grandmothers along and we are all excited to have a "girl's day"!:goodvibes

They should have the doll but I would call ahead to see if they have it plus make my reservation for the Bistro. Dallas is the place we go for our AG dolls and we never have trouble getting a parking spot in the parking garage just outside AG if we are there at opening. Plus the store isn't crowded first thing in the morning. Your daughter is going to have so much fun.

I appreciate your response!

I guess it was just hard to find the store becuase we were already IN the mall. Since we are going for the specific purpose of going to the store, it sounds like that will be easier.:goodvibes

I think you can make reservations for the Bistro online. You can for the Boston store.

we don't live in Texas but here in Ma we just got an American girl in natick and we love it. I think you can make a brunch there if you want instead of a lunch and make your reservation well ahead of time you can call them or do it online.

As for the doll they should still have her until January. As for time we spent about an hour before our meal and that was enough time.

And another warning you will buy way to much cute stuff!:lmao:
