American Express

I know that American Express is no longer the offical card of Disney but is it still accepted everywhere in Disney where other credit cards are taken? I want to take a card just in case I need extra money and I would prefer to take my Amex.

To the best of my knowledge, AmEx is accepted everywhere within WDW that any other card is accepted. It's the only card I've ever brought to WDW, and I've never had any trouble with it.

For as many times as we have gone to WDW....thats as many times as we have used AMEX.

We always have it linked to our room key for charging.

NEVER had a problem with it. Remember, WDW would never stop letting us use the AMEX card........unlimited spending limit.

CHARGE ALL YOU WANT.

Not mine but then again I don't have unlimited spending but the limit is high enough that it might as well be. I can take as long as I want to pay it off. I'm not even going to link it to the room card b/c I don't plan on using it but want to be sure it's okay just in case.

We were just there in June and used ours for everything. We also have the one that you don't have to pay off in 30 days, although we always do because the interest is pretty steep. Many people don't know that American Express has cards that can be paid like any other card can. We really love ours because we get Delta Skymiles for every dollar spent. We pay many of our bills with it too.

American Express has a variety of products these days. I use a Hilton HHonors Amex card that works like a standard credit card (and no annual fee!!).

I find it reassuring to carry two credit cards of different types (e.g. VISA, Amex), just in case there is a problem with one of them. Since I don't carry checkbook or travelers checks I am dependent on having a working credit card.

For the longest time, that's primarily what an AE card was - a charge card, not a credit card. It has only been recently (well, 5-10 years) that they've extended credit to a large number of consumers.

I love my AmEx for that very reason. The balance has to be paid off in the 30 days. My mom once asked me what would happen if I didn't pay off the balance. I told her they would come and get my first born child. Ha!

I recently got the AmEx blue with a very low interest rate if you carry a balance and no annual fee. The limit is pretty high but I like carrying this card because sometimes the 30 day pay off rule is just a bit restrictive. As a whole though, I love the American Express products I have because my green card forces me to think carefully before I put something on it. Can I really pay this bill off when the statement comes? I can't tell you how many times I've decided to forego some item that I have convinced myself I really need because I know I wouldn't be able to pay the bill off. I'm definitely taking the AmEx blue with me on vacation though in case the PalMickey starts calling to me!

Better yet..I paid off our whole trip on the 15th. They were having a special until then for double your sky miles! So I just got ALOT of sky miles AND we get to go see Mickey for Thanksgiving! BUt we do have to pay that balance in 30 days.
Even if we didn't have to, I use my amer xpress like writing cks. Put each transaction in your ckbook. We have a personal one and biz. one. We use our cards for everything! Got most of our tickets to fly to Orlando free.
