I've never used these before but take it they are very easy to use.

Understandably the top of each of them has been signed by me and when you purchase something you sign the bottom for them to witness.

However, do you write anything in the middle - such as the prize of the purchase? silly how that may sound.

I've been told 'no', and that you just hand them over and get the change in dollars back in return.

Also, would hotel receptions happily take them in exchange for cash?

sign the top, dont date them, then sign the bottom when you use them, if the shop wants you to write anything else on them they will ask you to, not usre about hotels exchanging them, but theres no need as they are almost the same as cash out there, some places may ask for ID if you have high values ones but not always.

Keep I note of the TC numbers in a separate location to the TCs. Cross of the numbers as you use them.
Then if you loose any or get any stolen you know which ones you have used and which ones are missing

Hi yes, they are so east to use, just sign when you buy something and you will get change back in dollars. Also make sure that you have your ID on you, we have got to the counter before, signed the TC and had no id on us!!
