My fiance and I were wondering whether or not the American Express Traveler Fund card could be used for our key to the world card onboard. Is it accepted? We plan to use this card for our purchases on the ship and later when we go to WDW for a week. Any experience or suggestions regarding this card would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

While I haven't used the card you refer to, my guess would be that as long as they accept American Express (which I would be surprised if they didn't since that used to be the preferred card of WDW) you should be able to use it to pay off your shipboard account. Your best bet would be to contact DCL and WDW to make sure.

These cards are becoming more popular as gifts and in lieu of travelers cheques so I would be surprised to find out they aren't accepted but better to find that out now with a simple call then when you go to pay off you bill at the end of the cruise/your stay in WDW.

That card's terms and conditions specifically states it can not be used to pay on board cruise charges. There was a post a few days ago about this card. That isn't to say the DCL wouldn't accept it, but the card does exclude cruise charges from its allowed uses.

I did not read the fine print and used mine on the cruise. No problems at all!

I looked at the amex site today and it did say that you could not use the card for ship board charges. I called Amex and questioned that because someone said that they were able to use it. Amex said that they say no because they want people to understand that if they have lets say 2000.00 on the card and they put it to use for the kttw that the whole amount will be put on hold and the card cannot be used for any other charges. They also said that if there is an amount left over that the cruise will credit back to the card that it cna take 7-11 days to post back to the account. :confused3 Hope this is helpful to you. they suggest gettng 2 cards one for the ship and one for the shore the only thing is you will need to use 2 different accounts as payment. That sounds like a plan to me then I don't have to worry about cash or credit cards to carry.

We are on the Aug 13 magic cruise can't wait first time cruise for us and dd14 and dd10.Thanks to all who post great questions and answers it has been a great help! :cheer2: :p :smooth: :sunny:
