American Express Presale

I do not have a American Express but am considering getting one due to the fact that I want to purchase tickets for the Taylor Swift concert and the presale starts Sunday. Has anyone ever bought concert tickets with them do you usually get good seats?

Hi, I used my amex for the presale here. Seats were ok, nothing great. I just happened to call the day they went on sale to the general public and was able to get much better seats. They do not open up all the seats to the preseale, just some in specific areas. Would I open a card for this. from my experience, no.

I have had an AmEx for years and have bought concert and show tickets through their presales and sometimes they are really good, sometimes they are average. It varies depending upon the event.

You do realize it will take over a week for them to even get the card out to you, don't you? So if the presale starts this Sunday, you likely won't be able to get tix the first day.

If you won't use the AmEx other than for concert tickets, it may not be worth it to get the card. You're probably better off signing up for Taylor's newsletter and free online fan club through her site. Doing this gave me a presale code that allowed me to purchase tickets 4 days before they were available to the general public.

This is the 2nd year I'll be taking my DD to see Taylor in concert, and the tickets I got this year are slightly better than the ones I got last year thru a re-seller.

By the way, we both loved the concert...have fun!

Not sure if the American Express tickets work the same in the U.S. as in Canada--but the selection of tickets available is quite limited, and sells out very fast. Depending on the popularity of the attraction, tickets can sell out the first day. I have never managed to get presale tickets through American Express that were the best tickets in the house, so I am not sure that they are even available.

Thanks for the quick replies. No I do not want another card really and just figured I would be instanly approved and could just use it right away so no need to apply for one afterall. A coworker has told me she has one and will do it for me so that works out there. I didn't know about the presale codes on her website thanks. GOing to sign up for it right now. Just last year I tried buying them online and was out of luck. Went on ebay and bought them and payed just about triple, don't want to do that again!
