Forgive me for asking, but where in the world other than America can you use American money?

When I've traveled in Europe, I've found lots of stores that accept dollars. Also lots of "touristy" places in England, especially London, take dollars.

I also can't vote in the poll as I'm very conservative but think colored money would be cool :) I really like the English pound notes - they are pretty! I also agree that the British and European coins are cool, but I don't want any more coins! I really don't ever carry cash period.

Laurie :)

When the Soviet Union broke up, U.S. currency was the main currency of choice in the Soviet block countries. I don't know if it's still that way. I think they use more euro's now, and their own currencies.

The main reason to go to a dollar coin would be cost. Even though a coin is a bit more expensive to produce, it lasts about 25 years, where as a dollar usually circulates for 18 months.

I'd love some color on the bills here. I think European money is fun. Before the euro, France had the Little Prince on one of the franc notes. I thought it was so cute. And Irish coins were really awesome; I saved some. I don't know what the Irish-themed euro money looks like now. I've saved a few UK coins too.

Agree totally. It has gotten terrible in the last 3 years.

In Canada we have the Loonie this is our Dollar coin it is gold in colour and recieved the nickname due to the Loon on one side of the coin. Our two dollar coin is silver with a gold centre with polar bears on it. Our 5 dollar bill is blue our 10 is purple and the new 20 is green with purple on it our 50 is red and our 100 is brown and the 1000 is a pinkish redy hue. I also love the fact that the loonie is now worth 85 cents US unlike just a year ago when it was at 60 cents US. I think Canda should just go back to using the pound like our Commonwealth home England.
