Someone alerted me on the Resort thread, that their pre purchased flights for Nov/Dec had been changed, and AA had placed them on an earlier return flight, later arrival flight, giving no notice.

I checked for my October flight on AA, same thing!! They went from a slew of flights to 4 each way!!

I called and talk to the reservations and the nice agent said they may add a flight, but I would have to check and call, and of course they wouldnt charge me... how kind of them!!

I'm so frustrated! I could have booked Southwest, could have downloaded DING, but I wrongly thought I was doing good on AA with pre assigned seats at $150 round trip...

Anyone else with experience -

TIA

They may eventually give you notice that they changed you. They do it in order of the change so folks with flights in the immediate future get notified before folks with November flights.

Folks complain about SW, but the flights they release they actually intend to fly.

Our flights were just changes too. We received notification by email this week and our flights are in mid July 2005. Our departing now leaves one hour eariler (we get to WDW an hour sooner!) BUT our departing one leaves 45 minutes sooner meaning we have to leave our hotel and WDW sooner than we wanted to. Our seating stayed exatly the same even though the outgoing flight number changed. Hopefully you will be notified by email of the official change.

Effective August 22, American Airlines is eliminating their evening (approx. 8:00 p.m.) flight from Orlando to Chicago-O'Hare -- even though they had already sold plenty of tickets to passengers like eeyore45 and me for later this year. In fact, I have two WDW trips planned, and we were ticketed to fly home on the evening American flight both times.

I wouldn't have known if I hadn't been checking http://www.aa.com/ for something else, and I happened to look at my future itineraries.

For both itineraries, American put us on an earlier flight -- 4 1/2 hours earlier! American's afternoon flight (approx. 3:30 p.m.) is now their last nonstop of the day from Orlando to Chicago-O'Hare.

That wasn't good news. It would mean leaving Epcot before noon to get back to the resort for Magical Express or a towncar.

I called American. They were very nice about. For one trip, I decided to go with a connection through Miami to buy us another 3 hours at Epcot (even though I usually avoid connections). For the other trip, I kept the new return flight on the final day, but American allowed me to change our inbound flight to an earlier flight to gain back the time we lost on he final day. There was no fee and no hassle for these changes. (American would also have allowed us to move our return flight the next morning.)

So, to anyone else who is in the same boat, call American. I don't think any of us can talk them into putting the evening MCO-ORD flight or the early morning ORD-MCO flight back on their schedule, but they'll work with you if you have reasonable requests.

American has gone from 5 flights per day in each direction to 4. From Chicago-O'Hare to Orlando, American is eliminating the early morning (approx. 7:00 a.m.) flight. That could be very bad news for Disney Cruise Line passengers flying from Chicago on American on the morning of the departure from Port Canaveral.

American Airlines must have been making alot of flight changes recently. I get together annually with a group of friends who live all over the country, and all of us flying on American received emails that our flights to St. Louis in June had changed. None of us had been checking, so we don't know exactly when the change occured, but we did get six weeks notice. It really didn't make any difference to us. I actually got a better flight time than they originally offered when I bought my ticket, but it was not the itinerary the computer created with the change. I looked online to find out what flights they offered now and called to be put on what I wanted.
I feel bad for those of you who are planning itineraries for Disney and have changes that don't work out though. :headache:

Just got my email.

Our flight has changed 4 hours earllier 2-18-06 LGA to MCO

We are in no hurry to get down, it is President's Week. Better chance for a "BUMP" :rolleyes1

Wish us luck :wizard:

Ours were changed, too. Our times were minimal. We fly out 20 minutes earlier and come home 25 minutes earlier.
June 2 and June 9

Bummer about dropping the early and late flights. I hope you get through Miami ok, we did the same thing a few years ago and it was not a great experience, but I'm sure things have improved.

Yikes ... we are looking to book our airfare direct with Disney for our October vacation. AA is the airline we will be using. Right now we plan to fly out of Springfield, MO to connect in St Louis. We have 30 min to make that connection in St Louis. Do you think we are crazy for considering this flight seeing that AA is making some flight changes on various routes???

There are never guarantees but that's probably more of a gamble than I would be willing to take. Even if you arrive on time to St. Louis that doesn't give them much spare time to get your bags transferred over.

Great point ... I'm so glad I come here for information. We normally fly non-stop so hadn't given a second thought to having to transfer luggage over. We'll check into alternate routes .. looks like that will involve going thru DFW which doesn't thrill me but I"m sure it will be fine.

Drive a bit north to Milwaulkee, Mitchell Field, fly Midwest Airlines. 7:30 Am flight out, 7:30 PM return, I love that airport and airline.

I had a recent experience, where the flight schedule changed, and I was not notified.
My niece (who was on the same flight, but via a different reservation number) was notified.
We thought they had changed her flight, without changing mine, which irritated me because I had paid an extra $100 (over the cheapest fare available at the time I booked her) to get her on the same flight and myself (she decided to come with me after I had already purchased my ticket).
So my sister called, and we discovered that I was supposed to be on the earlier flight with my niece, because the later flight was not operating anymore.

This was with American Airlines. One reason I booked American (while other airlines had simlar (every so slightly lower) fares, was because they had so many flights to choose from. By having a lot of flights, I knew that if we missed a connection, there were other planes to put us on, within a reasonable time.

I also lost the seats I had reserved, which were not over the wing (where I ended up) and had an excellent view.
Oh well,
At least it all worked out, and we had a wonderful trip.
Worse things could have happened.
