Last year we upgraded on Delta to Economy Comfort for $79 per person each way. Had the front row and it was well worth it. Just wondered if anyone has upgrade on American Airlines to their main cabin extra. Says extra 4-6 inches leg room but price s $136 per person each way. Tempted for the way back.

I've never upgraded, but we're short people, so we already have plenty of leg room in regular economy :p

Now if I were taller ... I don't know. We're a family of 3, so $130+ per person, to have 5 more inches for 7 hours ... that's more than some people here would be willling to pay for one night at an hotel in Orlando.

Of course I'm not tall, so I can't begin to realise how painful it gets on a long haul in those cramped economy seats. But for the price they quote per person one way, I'd probably suffer for 7 hours and add 2 signature restaurants for the same kind of money :)

so, in my opinion, not worth it. (But I don't need the extra leg room, so I guess my point of view is biased.)

Cant remember how much we paid to upgrade with Delta, we got a discount with platinum AAdvantage, I think it was about $40pp, well worth that but certainly wouldn't pay $400+ for 3 of us. Others would though, your choice.
