Exactly. Your ability to strive for a life of happiness, freedom, liberty and justice no longer belongs to all. A bunch of politicians are now deciding who has those rights. Tragic.
Funny that thinking on this there is a laundry list on both sides that applies, which is why I am not on either side and in the middle, like Lady Justice, thinking everyone should have what they want as long as they leave everyone else the hell alone and stop expecting other people to clap.
The US motto should be, "You do you, and everyone else is free to ignore you but break a law and off to jail you go."

No. It’s not, Right now states are threatening the very existence of some citizens. Everyday, citizens are treated differe due to the color of their skin, gender identity,or sexual orientation. Last year, women lost the right to body autonomy.
I'm not trying to be political but you are talking about a minority of the population/states who thinks those policies are the right way forward. We the people have the right to vote such politicians out who promote policies that the majority disagree with. That is part of my point. We are not an absolute monarchy, we are a democratic republic. Our vote (and how many people who do vote) matters and that is not true in many cases in the world. I would love for 100% of the eligible population to vote in every election, yet many choose not to and just complain about what their politicians do after they chose not to participate in voting. For the record, I believe that all people have and should have the rights that you have mentioned (and I say that as a Catholic who may disagree with particular laws but still fully respects the rights of others who want to use those rights to their fullest under the constitution). The bottom line is your voice and vote matters and that is a blessing considering how many around the world can not express their will in using the human right of the vote.

Doesn't seem to be much for us moderates these days.

Sometimes I think most of us are in the middle, but no-one ever gives us a microphone or a show because there is less grandstanding and way more eye rolling. It's hard to get great ratings when all you do is wander around with screen clips saying, "Would you look at this crap?" with eye rolls and the comment, "Uggh, what an idiot."

Agree with the bolded statement 100%.

The problem lies in the fact middle is not exciting. We are rather boring compared to the far ends of the spectrum that get all the attention. So what we see is not the reality of how most of us feel.

Ratings supersede everything, which is incredibly sad.

Statistically, most of us (including me) are moderates but how many of us vote in the primary? I do, but many don't and that is what makes a big difference.

America is not perfect, no country is that I have seen. However, having lived all over the world I still say America is still the land of opportunity and the place where the right to Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness is the most uninhibited than any other country.

The majority of people in this country are good moral people that respect others that don't think / look like them. This is not true to for many countries around this great big world.

I also trust in the American Spirit to win in the end and overcome any obstacle. We are truly a melting pot and have the synergies of all the cultures of the world working in our favor.

Why compare yourself to failures? The "we're not perfect, but we're the best" attitude does nothing to fix the very real problems that continue to evolve for many unrepresented minorities. That's certainly NOT the "American Spirit."

I don't agree. I have spent lots of time in China. If you think those "unrepresented minorities" have problems here, you cannot fathom what those problems are like for them in China. We aren't perfect, but we are always trying to improve and become better, it's the American way and I still believe in it.

Name one country that you say does it better than the USA, and I will show you their many faults as well. If you look for the good you can find it, but the same is true if you look for the bad as well.

My ancestors came to America around 140 years ago looking for an opportunity of a better life, and found it. There are still millions of people wanting to come here for those same opportunities hundreds of years later, it's perfectly ok to admit we do a lot of things right here. To watch an immigrant come here and start a thriving business to support their family is still something that happens often in America, to not say so is simply minimizing the American Dream they came here and found.

I never implied that there aren't problems in other countries, only that it's disingenuous to claim that we're doing OK because our problems aren't as bad as others'. We can do better, but we're not. We're trying to make it more and more difficult for many already here.

100% disagree. Name one thing that is harder for any underrepresented group today than it was 25-50 years ago?

We have issues, but we are always working to improve a little bit at a time. Maybe it's not the massive step change you would like to see, but to say we aren't improving over time is certainly disingenuous. I am fine with anyone saying they want the change to happen faster, but to say we aren't improving is just not true.

Easy answer would be dealing with pregnancy. Many states now have bans in place that make life harder for women than it was 25+ years ago.

Too many to list....
And if the last week, or year, is any indication, it's gonna continue to get worse

So, your perception is due to this law some underrepresented group could be refused treatment if they provider chose to refuse them. What would stop them from going to another provider or another state to a provider who was more sympathetic to their personal situation?

Arguments like this are how we ended up with people needing green books to travel.

Also, “another state”? Who is paying for that?
