Just looking at the standard Little mermaid rooms, and it doesn't say anything about a fridge or microwave!?

Now i remember reading that they removed the fridges for some reason this summer...think they'll be back by January??

But is there no microwave?!

Microwaves are only in DVC and suites. If I remember right, the Little Mermaid rooms are "normal" hotel rooms and thus do not have microwaves. There should be one in the food court.

there also is no coffee maker in the Value Resort Rooms. This would include the Little Mermaid rooms

Grrrr, that's annoying. We were planning on making almost all of our meals in the room. If there's a fridge, i guess we can still do sandwiches, and salads and breakfast..
Think it would be worth it to spend more on a different hotel that has microwaves...?

Well nevermind, the standard rooms at the other resorts don't say they have microwaves either...

May I suggest looking into renting DVC points? That would enable you to get a studio villa at a discount. I have done business with David's before...very good to work with. Head over to the DVC boards and you'll find his link.

Otherwise, you are going to have to book a suite. Those are the only non-DVC accommodations that offer a microwave. And yes, all the fridges have been pulled out of all resort rooms with the exception of FtW and all DVC villas.
It was only recently that the value resorts offered free fridges in all rooms.

I know that the moderate resorts have microwaves available on request, but there are limited numbers and there's no way to "reserve" one. If someone else has them, you'll be out of luck.

There is a defect that caused a liability. This means that Disney has to change out all of the fridges that fall under this. It is temporary and should be done within the next 4 months based off of reports.

just a note that there ARE microwaves in the restaurant at AoA so you can still pre pare your meals there -- but yo have to carry them.
