Amend reservatioin once AP rates released?

Hi. I called last night looking for AP or Florida resident rates for mid-October at the Poly. The CM told me they had not been released but I could book to make sure I got a room then amend my reservation once the discount rates came out. Does this sound right?

Since I have AAA, I booked with the AAA rate which I believe is about 15% off rack rate. Once AP rates come out, I'll call and see if I can get the AP rate applied. That way I know my dates are secured and I won't be paying rack rate!!!
