I went to the movies this weekend and saw Amelia. I loved it! Hilary Swank was a beautiful Amelia. And Richard Gere was great as her husband. If you have read the reviews take them with a grain of salt...This was a great movie!

Nope...won't be seeing it. Did they paint her and her husband as having a great "love story"...if so, not true. History has shown that he was a controlling jerk who exploited her to the max and urged her to do the round the world flight despite the dangers because he wanted the publicity. Did they make it all "hollywood" by showing different?

Also, can't stand Hilary Swank at all.

I felt the exact same way. Also, I was beyond annoyed that the actors playing Amelia and her husband are so far apart in age. Amelia was 10 years younger than her husband. Swank is 25 years younger than Gere! I'm tired of Hollywood's distorted view than men are ageless and can be paired up with any actress at all, while women are old at thirty and would N.E.V.E.R. be paired with an actor 25 years thier junior (though, at 30, that would make the male lead 5...but you get my point ).

No thank you, I'll pass on this film.

Hi, Maryann! I am back at work. I only missed 5 days! I'm doing much better and was back at the concession stand Friday for our final home game. I did not eat anything that night! LOL

Well, there are alot of movies that are not historically correct but I still go to see thm for entertainment sake. I liked the spunk that Hillary brought to the character and regardless of the age difference between Richard and her...he is a gorgeous hunk!
