AMC FORK & SCREEN questions

Hi there. Just wondering if anyone knows if reservations are required for dinner and a movie at the AMC DTD dine in. Thanks!

From my understanding its no different then buying a ticket to a normal movie. Same idea.

You can buy tickets and choose seats in advance through Fandango.

If you want dine-in at a popular movie, you need to make arrangements at least very early the day you want to go.

Yes, definately pre-purchase to get the best seats. We went to DTD on March 6 and wanted tickets for the 8th to see Oz. They were almost sold out. I realize that was the first day of showing, but if its popular....

Also, I enjoyed the experience of the seats, tables, etc.....however the food is less than spectacular so don't expect much there.

I would definitely pre purchase tickets. You select you seats when you buy the tickets.

By the same token if you can't or forget to pre-purchase, unless you are seeing a movie that just released the previous Friday, the theaters are not always full and you can still great seats! I don't always pre-purchase, we go there on the spur, mid-day to get out of the heat and take a break from the parks! For evening, I would pre-purchase!

I've chosen seats when I got there for Zero Dark Thirty in January for a noon showing. There was only four other people at that showing. The seats were nice but the food was subpar. I should have smuggled in a Earls sandwich.

For us, this is experience is a "once and done." I wonder how often others feel the same?

Editing, days later, to post why this is "once and done" for me. The following comments are copied/pasted from my Vero Beach/BWV trip report of June 2012:

Things we think need some IMPROVEMENT:

* Fork & Screen at the AMC Theatres at Downtown Disney, Orlando. We loved the movie, Brave, but the dining experience has its share of problems. It is nearly impossible to see the check when paying, there is zero opportunity to return food selections, and you can't see what you are eating. Let's not even mention the difficulty navigating the menu for healthy choices. Sigh. It was fun to try once ... but I won't hurry back.

Glad to read (below) that others find this a "must do!" for each visit.

We do it every trip (4 times at this point)! We love movies and having a cocktail (or 2) and taking the boat back to OKW afterwards makes it easy! I didn't expect 5 star food but my turkey club, smoked brisquet quesadilla and chicken ceasar salad were tasty and on par with pub/sports bar food! The kids, my friends have all enjoyed it!

We're at Disney often, during the summer heat we do the waterparks and movies in the afternoon, and hit the parks late after cool down!
