Amazon Price Drop

Does anybody know if Amazon.com still does the price drop refund? I placed an order on Wed for several items and now 3 of those items are selling cheaper today then they were on Wed. All in all the price difference adds up to a littler over $60.00. The big item is Band Hero featuring Taylor Swift for the Wii. I ordered it for $199.99 on Wed and now they are selling it today for $149.99. That is a difference of $50.00.
I made the mistake of stopping at Belks yesterday morning where they had Aginer pocket books on sale and my husband bought me one and these price differences will almost make up for what he spent on it. I never by expensive pocket books but hey he got a good deal. They had them on sale 40% off so he got a $94 pocketbook for $60 with tax and all. I usually buy my pocket books from Walmart and won't spend over $20.00.
I went ahead an emailed Amazon to see if they would grant the difference. I figure the worst they can do is tell me no.
 
Amazon.com stopped doing price drop refund a while ago, but it doesn't hurt to email them and asked. My husband did that once, and Amazon told him that they will make an exception and refund him the difference. I hope your experience is the same.
 
I got an automatic price drop refund about 2 weeks ago. Not sure why someone said they are discontinued? Maybe they don't do it around the holidays :confused3
 
I have found that they will do it now IF the item has not shipped and your card has not been charged. They should as you could easily reorder it and send the other back.

I got an automatic price drop refund about 2 weeks ago. Not sure why someone said they are discontinued? Maybe they don't do it around the holidays :confused3

Was it a pre-ordered item? They will automatically do it on pre-orders, but the PP was right that they don't do price adjustments anymore like they used to. I sure wish they did!

Also, some people last year were trying to get around the new policy by returning items or refusing shipments ordered at a higher price, and Amazon was canceling their accounts.
 
Just an update for you guys. The stuff that I had ordered had already shipped out but I checked my order status and at the bottom it showed two refunds totaling a little over $60.00. That would be the difference in the stuff that I ordered. I guess it was done in 2 refunds because they are doing 2 different shipments. I haven't seen the money refunded back to my credit card yet so I guess we will have to wait and see but it does look like they are going to refund the difference. I would be happy if they gave it as a merchandise credit. One of the items that I ordered was Rock Band with Taylor Swift and it was $199.99 when I ordered it and today it was selling for $149.99. I also ordered the new Mario Brothers for Wii and it actually went up a couple of dollars from when I ordered it. I will keep you updated and let you know if I see the money refunded back to my credit card.

To clear up something I said. My items had been shipped out but I have not recieved it yet. Maybe that is why they gave the refund in price
 
Just wanted to add that I did get 2 emails telling me that they are going to refund the price difference and that it can up to 10 days to show on my credit card. So I guess it didn't hurt to ask.

That's interesting... I ordered something and because we have Amazon Prime, it was shipped and delivered within 2 days. The day after it arrived, the price dropped $15. I talked to customer service and they said "sorry, you're out of luck." Seems like if we didn't pay extra for this service, I would have gotten the refund because it wouldn't have been delivered yet.

I'm sending the item back.. not even bothering to order another one to replace it. It kinda ticked me off.

this happened to me too. I told them "well I can just order it now and return the other one" and they told me that I will be responsible for the return shipping charges and "it would probably eat up all the savings anyway"
