Amazon kindle deal

I got the offer and I've been thinking of getting a Kindle with my birthday money! I don't know a thing about these. Which one does what?

Any recommendations?

If you already have an Internet type tablet like an iPad or such, go with the paperwhite or kindle. If you need a tablet with apps and Internet ability, go with the fire.

I wasn't sure which either. I was so excited to see I got the offer, I hurried and got the paperwhite, afraid if I waited too long to review between them, I'd miss the deal. Afterwards DH said get a reg Kindle too, so I went back in and got a reg one, so we have 2 coming.
Paperwhite is for DD12 who is a book worm. She tested grade 13+ for reading/writing, she's only in 6th, plus straight As, so we wanted to reward her. I am just ecstatic at this great deal and surprising her. (If you couldn't tell since this is my 2nd post!:)

I got the offer by just going to the kindle page. It was a banner at the top. If you click on the banner, it goes to a page that asks if you want to apply it to your order. Only one discount per customer, one of each kind though. Got the regular one for my DS for $19 and paperwhite for DD for $44 plus 20 percent off accessories. Nice.

Anyone looking for a kindle, kindle fire, paperwhite or fire hdx, be sure to log onto your amazon account. You may have been selected for a special sale on these. Kindle $19, fire $89, paperwhite $44, and hdx $154. If you're not sure, just click on departments and then e readers. It should appear at the top of your screen if you were selected. It didn't show up for me on my mobile devices so be sure to check on your computer. I bought to put away for Christmas at that price. Even if they come out with a newer model, my 8 year old wouldn't know the difference!

Got this deal over Christmas. Would be nice if I could get it again as I would like a paperwhite but none of our accounts got it.

Well, I had the deal but worked all weekend. Went on this AM to purchase a Kindle Fire and the promo was gone. It has ended! Im so mad I missed out on this Lesson learned, I should have bought it when I saw it.

As the PP said, the Paperwhite price dropped $20 to $99 today (bit promo offer has expired). I saw on another Deal site that people were requesting and getting $20 refunds for the price drop, so I did a quick chat with Amazon customer service and got a $20 refund too. Total of only $24 for a new Kindle Paperwhite! SCORE!!

That's too bad, but I suggest trying again. Lots of reports of success on slickdeals.... Some reported having to try twice but got it. Good luck!
