Be warned. If you use TurboTax they're offering a 10% bonus if you agree to have part of your refund put into an Amazon GC. You have to choose increments of $100. It sounds like a good deal, but it's not working.

My refund came last Wednesday and still no Amazon code. I've talked to TurboTax help desk twice and keep getting the runaround. From their Help boards, it seems that a lot of people are having this problem. If you haven't already filed, I highly recommend that you avoid this issue. I've already spent more time on hold than the extra $10 at Amazon is worth and I seem to be out $100 of my refund. Right now I'm not very impressed with Turbo Tax customer service.

Just thought I'd share and possibly save someone else from the aggravation.:badpc:

Oh no, I hate to read this. We filed on Feb 10th and took $500 of our refund as an Amazon gift card :(

We just filed last weekend and didn't see this as an offer. Now I'm glad we didn't. Thanks for the warning.

My DBF did this last year and NEVER did receive his gift card. Multiple phone calls and emails to TurboTax. Their customer service was horrible! He would call TurboTax and they would tell him to call Intuit because it was not their promotion. He would then call Intuit and they would tell him to call TurboTax because it was their problem. DBF finally just got disgusted and quit calling.

I hate to hear this. I put $500 on a amazon gift card, because I figured that will be nice to have come Christmas time ($550 with bonus). It's suppose to be in my email within 3 more days, so we'll see!

I just wanted to post that I filed my taxes on February 1st. On February 8th, I received an e-mail that I would be receiving my $220 gift card within 24-48 hours. I received my e-mail with the gift card code on February 10th.

Well this is encouraging!

I googled this after I saw this thread last night and sure enough, this seems to be a huge problem. Was a problem last year :( Wish I had known.

I got my GC email the day after the rest was deposited into my bank account. It all went exactly as advertised for me.

That doesn't make any sense, because TurboTax *IS* Intuit. Intuit is the name of the company that makes the TurboTax software (along with Quicken and Quick Books). I'm wondering if they didn't tell him to call Amazon, and since he never did, that's why he didn't get any help. :confused3

Filed our taxes several days ago. Saw the offer, thought about for a moment, then decided I'd rather have all the cash -- glad I made that decision!

That's what we thought too. But they have two separate customer service departments. We tried calling Amazon also but they said we had to call TurboTax because they send the gift card codes to TurboTax and have no idea who they go to until someone redeems them. It was a mess! He finally just gave up trying since it wasn't that big of an amount of gift card. I was with him when he literally sat on the phone for 4 hours one day, calling from department to department.

this is how it worked for us too. I had them put $200 in and I had to add a code in at Amazon and I now have $220 in my account!

I wish I could get the code. They keep telling they're resubmitting and to wait. Last Friday they sent an email saying to wait 96 hours. Tuesday night it was wait another 24-48 hours. Still nothing. I'm really disgusted with their service.

OP, I am so sorry you are having problems. I'd be pretty upset too.

I am happy to report that we got our refund today as well an an email with an Amazon code. So it worked fine for me. We won't do this again in the future though until all the kinks are worked out.

I filed Feb. 4th, received refund Feb. 12th and giftcard code Feb. 13th... :yay: That was by far the FASTEST I have ever received refund much less a promo offer! I used the refund to buy our season passes and book our 8 night stay at ASSp, and used the amazon money to buy all our "extras" ponchos, lanyards, sunscreen (we already subscribe and save to this technically), new crossbody bag, etc! :woohoo:

I received my Amazon code the same day as my refund. I'm wondering if any of them went to spam folders.

Quick update: finally got my Amazon code. I had to wait 45 min for a CSR last night, but she was really helpful and she got it fixed. I guess the third try was the charm.
