Does amazon.com have Black Friday sales, and if so, so they advertise in advance? I'm not always organized enough to keep checking the prices on the items I want.
Have you found good deals there on BF or cyber Monday?
I'm an avid Amazon shopper ordering from them on avg once a day. If I can buy from Amazon, I will Having said that, I've been less-than-impressed with Amazon's BF and CM sales. They advertise some items in advance and others are kept secret. I think it really depends on what you are after. They will price match a few items that other retailers have for a good price but not the majority of items. A lot of their stuff sells out super fast so you have to be ready. While I don't think their BF sales are that great, I have a friend who does all her shopping that one day online with them and thinks their sales are fantastic. So, again, I think it really depends on what you are after. They also will have special sales on Thanksgiving Day.
We have our eye on the same item! I was hoping to purchase at Best Buy or Staples, but I'm not going to wait in line if they will only have a few as doorbusters.
Hopefully I can get a deal at amazon- but I hate having to stalk their website!
Yes, Amazon does do Black Friday deals. They have lightening deals and gold box deals. You have to know what you want to buy, and you definitely need to know what a good price would be because some of the items aren't actually a great deal.
The Black Friday deals will sell out in literally seconds. Like, you click on the item right when it goes live and may be waitlisted right away. For me personally, I haven't seen anything I needed for gifts on their Black Friday deals so I don't bother.

I saw the BestBuy and Staples ads too. I think the one at Staples is 1st Generation and/or only 8gb. Can't tell much from the ad, but I read that in comments somewhere. And BestBuy... on Black Friday?...not my idea of fun!
Dealhacker is really covering BF,Cyber Monday and all the related sales. I've done most of my shopping already with deals they found. They have a lot of Amazon items so if Amazon is going to have a promotion, they will have them listed. Lifehacker.com/dealhacker
For me it's easier to follow than Slickdeals. Dealhacker posts a list of just the best buys for the day.
I believe last year Amazon issued a press release prior to BF with most of their deals. It was a fairly long list. So far non of the BF sites have obtained this yet. I'm hoping they do it again. I have 3 small children and will need to arrange for childcare if I have to go out to the brick and mortar stores.

Yep, I remember they had a list of items and specific times they would be on sale. The only one I was interested in was a dvd (whichever Disney movie was hot last Xmas ). They had it twice (a couple of days apart). First day I was out of luck but I was able to get it on the second. I had to have it in my cart before it went on sale and be super fast to checkout. They sold out in seconds!
I do remember that they had the Kindles on sale a couple of times, if I decide to upgrade mine to the HDX I will keep an eye on Amazon and not bother braving the crowds/cold.
