Amazing songs with unintelligible lyrics

I may have a winner. Discovered this by accident years ago.

This song was written in complete gibberish, because the songwriter noticed how often Italians were enjoying English-language music while never understanding the lyrics.

Basically, this is how Americans sound to Italians. And the song is actually catchy in a weird way.

Volbeat Still Counting makes 99% no sense but the word that I can make out would blotted out on a clean version, the rest is fine but I can't understand it, an irony I find very amusing.

It was confusing but after I learned about "Movin' in" I can never hear it any other way.

I don't know if it was always clear to me or if it only became clear after learning the lyrics but it seems pretty clear "movin' in" when I hear it now.

Exactly. When I first heard it, it sounded like he was saying, "I'm not talking 'bout the millennium," which didn't make sense since it was written & released in 1976. And there was no Internet back then to look up the lyrics. So, that one was confusing for a number of years. :headache: Of course, when I finally found out what the words were, it then made sense and I hear the actual words now.

Almost anything by Michael McDonald, whether as the lead singer or backing singer. Here’s just one example:
Yah Mo B There by James Ingram (Michael singing key parts)

What I came home to playing in the house and thought this might be a fun thread
This song - WOW. Glad you started the thread with it because it's the only one I think of. Hey, let's look up the actual lyrics! That will clear it up. Nope.

Unsealed on a porch a letter sat
Then you said I wanna leave it again
Once I saw her on a beach of weathered sand
And on the sand I wanna leave it again, yeah
On a weekend wanna wish it all away
And they called and I said that I want what I said
And then I call out again
And the reason oughtta leave her calm, I know
I said I don't know whether I'm the boxer or the bag
Oh yeah, can you see them
Out on the porch
Yeah but they don't wave
I see them
'Round the front way, yeah
And I know and I know I don't want to stay
Make me cry
I see
I don't know, there's something else
I wanna drum it all away
Oh, I said I don't, I don't know whether I'm the boxer or the bag
Oh yeah, can you see them
Out on the porch
Yeah but they don't wave
I see them
'Round the front way, yeah
And I know and I know I don't want to stay
I don't wanna stay
I don't wanna stay
I don't wanna stay, oh no
Yeah
Oh, oh
Oh, oh
Yeah, still really confused...

Resurrecting this thread because I heard a classic from the 80's that I just could not decipher. The crazy thing is it's the dramatic part where he actually says, "I turn to her and say..." That should be a pretty important, very clear message but...huh?
