So looks like 7 teams come back. Looks like the newly dating couple and the married couple whose wedding dance went viral did not come back. I assume they brought back eliminated teams, but did they bring back all 3 or just 2 to replace the 2 who didn't come back I wonder.

I thought only two teams have been eliminated so far. Last week in the 2 hours, there was an elimination after the first leg and then the race continued at the end of the episode. Tonight there was one elimination.

I wasn't disappointed with last night's eliminated team. She had no intentions of even making an attempt at the barrel challenge, although it seemed that they were both trying to remove the rings by hammering them further onto the barrel.

I can see two reasons why teams wouldn't return...

1. The team was doing awful during the pre-covid portion of the race.
2. The team is worried about the spread of covid while the pandemic is still going on. They do a lot of travel to different places and who knows how they'd be able to keep up with pandemic news while racing.

I would guess, based on what was shown so far, one of those teams didn't stay together.

Sorry, assumed people on the west coast would wait until they see the show before coming on here.

I thought 3 teams were eliminated, but maybe there were just two. In the coming attractions Phil does say not every team returns, but you may remember these people, so have to assume it's either one or both of the teams that were eliminated. Must be hard to get back into the race after a year, but if they took Phil's advice to train and work on things for when they come back they could do really well.

I was surprised they are still traveling out of the country. We see they pick up in Switzerland from the coming attractions. I would have thought they would have kept it to the US with so many different restrictions depending on what country you go to.

Thanks , I was going to back today to see who was missing. It must be hard to come back and restart.

Not sure how they can restart in Sept. with the virus still out there but I guess we are going to see.

I would also suspect that it would be difficult to arrange to take so much time off of work/life a second time to return as well.

I imagine it was hard to have to do the process all over again. Plus, I think they all thought it wouldn't be that long. Remember when we first shut down it was just going to be 6 weeks. They ended up racing again after 17 months. Forget about arranging childcare, taking off work, etc., just getting back into race mode must have been hard. I'm sure most of them thought that they would never be called back to finish the race and just went on with their lives.
