Amazing Race

I was wondering if the teams that didn't come back, were they given the option to run with someone else. Like the heroes, one of them was injured and the one couple the woman was pregnant, could they have run with each other. Even the couple who split up, they could have run with someone from another team whose partner couldn't make it.
I know in the past they've had a new team member when one of them dropped out but I think it was before the race started. At least I think. Anyone remember if they've swapped out players due to an injury or something like that when the race has already started?

Why the heck did Sherri do the challenge when she was hyperventilating going up the gondola? And then the preview shows her doing ANOTHER height related challenge next week? What a maroon.

It was interesting seeing them do Appenzell. We just watched a Rick Steves episode in that area earlier in the week.
She said her husband was too big to do that challenge , maybe her husband is afraid to do the next one who knows. Guess we will see.

Too big to do the mountain challenge? I also wondered why she did it when she was visibly upset on the gondola. I didn't catch that they thought he might be too big for it.

I do remember weight/height restrictions preventing someone from doing a task, which I don't understand how they can do that. They know what everyone's height and weight are, you'd think they would pick challenges everyone can do. Sort of not fair to do that.

I know it's not the show's fault, but this reboot is not going to be nearly as much fun to watch. No travel issues, no fights with cab drivers, everyone even at all legs (maybe they have a plan for that?). It just seems like it will be Amazing Race-lite. Oh well, I'll still watch. :p
One of those things that can't be helped. As long as the tasks are designed well there should be opportunities for lead changes and such, which helps with the drama.

You're thinking of All-Stars 2, where we were supposed to get Mark and Bopper, but Bopper ended up not being medically cleared and they got Mallory Ervin (I assume that she and her father were a backup/shadow team) as a replacement.

So I read that Team Buffalo and Natalie/Arun did an unaired Speed Bump that ended up moving them to the back of the pack. I don't know if that was entirely fair or not but it would've been nice of Bertram and Elise to not edit that information out.

Well that makes more sense. I thought I heard someone mention it, and thought "Wait, what did I miss?" Plus the timing of the belts seemed off.

So Arun and Natalie did really well, with it all.

Was sad for Team Buffalo. I know they were being upbeat about the experience, but it had to have sucked to be out first - twice.

I also heard about the Speed Bump for the two teams that were eliminated before. Why would they edit that out? It would have made more sense. I listened to a podcast that had Michael and Moe on and they said if it wasn't for the speed bump they would have been in like 3rd or 4th place, that the belt thing didn't take them as long as the show was making it out to be. Just weird they would edit it out.

There is something in this interview with the singing cops about them knowing full well in advance that they may encounter weight limitations.

I'm guessing they will not be giving out trips with the pandemic, so maybe the trips usually cost $5,000, so why they are giving them $2,500 each, but I don't know.

The retail price of the trips may be 5k but the show likely doesn't pay 5k for them.

I knew not to get too excited that the obnoxious guys were last after the first challenge had a feeling they would somehow finish the next one quickly and not get eliminated. I want them to go so bad they have such swelled heads so of course they will probably win the whole thing.

Dusty was annoyingly intense. Ryan was pretty even tempered so I'll give him a pass.

They got lucky that the last two tasks were physical. I think that Ryan at least knows that.

I love this show, watch past seasons just to get my "fix", however this season is so boring. I realize they had to make a lot of changes but man, is it boring. I used to get tired of all the arguing about cab rides or missed flights but now I miss it! Funny how Akbar was always berating Sherri about how slow she was or when she had trouble with a task but look who had trouble with the one thing he had to do on his own. I really wanted to like that team but not after listening to him talk to her like that.

I forgot to comment last week but I wasn't surprised to see the father/daughter have issues with directions you knew how far behind they were getting with the way they were showing them just in the car the whole time. But it was nice in a way to see them get that second shot and they showed up in last night's episode.

Dusty and Ryan they def. had some emotions going last night

Ugh y'all are right about Akbar, he's a jerk to Sherri he always seemed so sour and she upbeat even when confronted with the extreme heights. And those stairs with the wine and nuts challenge were no joke even for the fittest of the fit it was hard. She was even tempered about their loss too
