Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

And littering on National Television on an Interstate someplace.

That's funny, I was hoping there was a cop behind them and they got pulled over! THAT would have been classic TV!

OK I just found the YEILD time 15 minutes...I was watching the video from CBS.com and Linda Weaver was saying she was afraid that the Linz family would try and yeild them, she said "But it's only 15 minutes."

in my opinion - anyone who has to say they are christian, usually dont act it...and that would have been classic tv if they would have gotten pulled over for the littering... :rotfl: the paolo family grew on me over the season too, but they definetly need anger management. i really dont like the attitude the linz family has either but they are better than the other 2 families remaining.

I would like to see the Linz and the sisters at the end.
At the end I laughed when the Weaver girl said she doesn't know why everyone is against them :rotfl: HEEELLLLO!!!

Do you think the Paolos and Weavers watched the tapes after it was over
and see how they acted and treated people? :earseek: I know the Paolos just screamed at each other, but it was upsetting at times the way they talk to each other.

Ah thank you!!

Oh I thought it was funny when the Linz's got pulled over and the guy told the officer, we're lost trying to race other cars. :rotfl: They even mentioned how they shouldn't have said that to the officer. I think I'm definitely rooting for the Linz's now. Have they come in first at all? Have they won any prizes? I know the sister's have won a lot, so I want them to come in second.

Does anyone but me see some of Connor family (Rosanne) in the New York family? When I first started watching them that what I thought of Rosanne, Dan and the bickering, unpleasant kids.

And those Weavers - please look at at Atlas or a map once in awhile - if you are flying into the Phoenix, AZ airport when you get in the car and start driving away you are still in AZ!!

Of the teams that are left:
Godlewski Family has finished 1st...3 times...Team average 3rd place.
Bransen Family has finished 1st...2 times...Team average 4rd place.
Weaver Family has finished 1st...1 time...Team average 3rd place.
Linz Family have yet to finish 1st...Team average 3rd place.
(The Linz have been 2nd...4 times)

I just wanted to mention, I saw the Paolo's this morning on CBS. The Host (Harry?) asked them "So what is up with the Weaver's?" The oldest Paulo boy (the one that always drove) said that he had thought about that last night & that for anyone who watched the show, he thought it was pretty self explanatory... but then he did go right on to say they all thought the family were hypoctrit's... so, looks like what we've seen on TV is what really went on behind the scenes...

There have been several times when the Weaver's have asked strange questions like asking if Pennsylvania was a state, Lake Ponchatrain was the Fifth Great Lake & then last night, what state were they in... HELLO?!? PHOENIX, AZ, ARIZONA!!! egad

Does anyone else think Papa Paolo should have gotten a time penalty for being rescued at the beginning? It doesn't seem fair that they weren't penalized for that since he technically did not complete the task on his own. Maybe they could have brought him back in and another team member would have to swim out and do the task over? It didnt' seem quite fair....

Glad the Paolos are gone, still routing for the Bransons by default since I don't really like the other teams....

I had thought about that too--but all the rescue swimmers did was give him a flotation device--and then swim with him...but he did swim unassisted by another person. I think the extended time in completing the task was penalty enough JMHO.

Good episode last night although I have to say the Weavers are plucking my last nerve. And those were work-out shorts? Sure looked like underdrawers to me. :rotfl: I must have sat on my couch with my mouth open for 5 minutes after I saw that. And to stand on the mat and cry because of the way the others treat you, give me a break.

I like the Linz's, typical sibs to me. And the Godlewski's, typical too, to many female hormones in one place there is going to be cattiness and loudness.:rotfl: (and I am a female by the way). The Bransen dad was bugging me too. Why he felt the need to stop and ask directions instead of taking a minute and reading the map is beyond me. The Aeillo's had started to grow on me, but I really think the mother should have backhanded her son when he started his cr@p.

I thought from past seasons the Yield was for one hour... did it change this season??

I wonder if they see it now, when they are watching themselves on TV. I wonder what their friends and neighbors say to them.

I'm sure they will say it was the editing designed to portray them in an unchristianlike manner. :teeth:

Only thing is--they aren't forcing the words from your mouth! And 2 wrongs don't make a right!

I honestly don't think that the Weaver's girls dressing is all that bad. I kinda think it is quite appropriate. I go to an all women's gym and people are wearing tank tops and shorts exactly like those. If I could fit into a pair, I would. I think that they are just the new items to be wearing for exercising... and the Amazing Race is obviously great exercise! :rotfl:

That kid isn't wearing the wear b/c of exercise.

The Gaghan's--now that's a working out family. Mom didn't have to dress like a tart to be comfortable.

And those girls aren't fitting in those clothes.

JHMO.

Yea! we wouldn't talk bad about anyone would we, especially not on a message board the whole freakin' world can read!
I feel better now. ;)

Maybe WE would but WE aren't out there claiming how Christian we are every minute. Very hypocritical.

I did not think it was too Christian like they way they acted when they were yieled. Making fun of all the other families and their pictures. I was embarassed.

I don't think so, I think it has always been 15 minutes.

Kelly

PS - Did no one notice the Weaver girls' shorts a few episodes ago, when I did? I thought they were horrible then and still do now. Yeah, they might be work out clothes, but the Bransen girls are wearing work out clothes and they look nice (except for the hat).

Yep, it definitely isn't flattering!

This all makes me wonder if we would be so critical if it were the Bransen girls doing it? ;)

I judge equally when it comes to tart-wear. The Bransen girls are athletic and their attire is consistent with athetic wear. If they looked like tarts..well....I'd say so. :teeth:

My DH and I discussed this very thing after the show last night! That's funny that we both thought that!! I said that I used to watch Rosanne and wonder if families were actually like that IRL - I guess now I know the answer is yes. :teeth:

I also agree with most of you that I was starting to like th Paolo family. At least they were only mean to each other (is that better or worse?). :confused3 :teeth: They did provide quite a bit of comic relief. I think I'll actually miss them next week.

Those sisters are awful. Constantly arguing and it's just annoying. The one sister is always nitpicking.

I really don't think I could do this show with my family. It would not be pretty...LOL!

Do you have sisters? I have five. It would be a disaster to go on TV with them. lol :rotfl:

They have never said before, Phil has just said they can't proceed until the timer was run out.

I was watching the Video clips from Episode 8 (clips that aren't shown on the show) under "So Scary" Linda said It's only 15 minutes. :confused3
The clips are real good like personal diary's. What each team thinks of the other teams. What happens behind the scenes shown on TV.

Each leg of the race has a YIELD point. Teams must stop at the YIELD location to do two things before continuing along the course: 1) They must check to see if they have been YIELDed by another team; 2) If no Team has been YIELDed, they must decide whether to use the YIELD or not. If a Team is YIELDed, they must turn over the hourglass and wait until all the sand runs out before they may continue with the race. A Team may use the YIELD to stop another Team only once throughout the entire course of the race. However, there is no limit to the number of times that a Team can be YIELDed by the other Teams.
