Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

I couldn't believe when the Weaver mother said "they play dirty" about the Linz team right after she told the toll booth guy to slow the Linz's down! I am getting so frustrated watching them, I'm almost screaming at the TV!

I really wish they would do a reunion show when it's over. I loved to hear all the behind the scenes stuff. Weavers are a bunch of hypocrits. It would be great to be a fly on their wall when they are watching themselves on TV - how Christian and classy do you think you are now? :confused3

One last thing GO LINZ FAMILY!!!

I'm so tired of how two faced the Weaver family seems. They seem truly cluelsess as to why other teams don't llike them. Hey Weavers, maybe it is because you say and do mean things to other teams like telling the guy at the entrance to the Grand Canyon to slow down the other team and like throwing food at another team.

Since I'm from Arizona, it was fun to see the Phoenix area.

Go Linz team!

I couldn't believe they were throwing food and the mom just lets it happen, my mom would have a fit if I did something like that (of course I wouldn't in the first place)

And then they are crying at the end that everyone is mean to them? That would have been a good time to do a little montage of them throwing food and punching the pic of the Paolo (SP?) Family.

This was the best episode yet! We have been waiting since the beginning to get rid of that Paolos! They are the most obnoxious and disfunctional family I've ever seen. They should be hanging their heads in shame for the way they acted torward each other. Their little love speech at the end was so put on it was sickening. I really don't blame the Weavers for acting the way they are. They didn't start out that way but have changed since realizing everyone else was against them. I really hope they win. They are the only ones that I have ever liked on that show. The next family I hope goes are those annoying sisters!

I was soooooooo hoping to see the Weavers go tonight. They are the BIGGEST hypocrites! And im soo tired of hearing what a good christian life they are leading. The family who went out last week, the dad, mom and two younger kids. That was a role model family and the Weavers even bashed on them! Maybe they need to see themselves in action to realise how pathetic they really are!!!!

Paolos are gone, I will not miss the son mouthing off to the mom all the time but I really think they gave it their all. More so than those Weavers....aghhhh!

Too bad the Weavers are still in it. It would be a shame if those hypocrites won it. In any event, I can't wait for the real AR to return. I have found this season to largely be unwatchable.

Perhaps when they are Philiminated, they can blame their lord.

I think it was pretty funny how most of the teams were disappointed about going to Arizona. I think one of the sisters said, but what about New Zealand or someplace like that. I think the teams are a little disappointed about the locales this time too. (Only the Linz sister was happy, she made a comment about getting back to English speaking).

The one "desperate housewife" is really starting to annoy me. The perfectionist one. She is pretty obnoxious about things to her sisters. And at the end she screams about how it pays to be skinny....I thought that was a bit strange. But I guess their boat was lighter......

Does anyone else think Papa Paolo should have gotten a time penalty for being rescued at the beginning? It doesn't seem fair that they weren't penalized for that since he technically did not complete the task on his own. Maybe they could have brought him back in and another team member would have to swim out and do the task over? It didnt' seem quite fair....

Glad the Paolos are gone, still routing for the Bransons by default since I don't really like the other teams....

But the question is why is everyone against them. I don't think all the other teams would choose to gang up on that one poor team if they hadn't done something to irritate them ALL. If they had done nothing wrong why would they be the ones targeted. I think we missed a lot through edited when everything seemed to fall apart for the Weavers.

You know - in the beginning of last night's episode I was actually feeling for the Weaver family. When they went to the race track I had a tear in my eye because I couldn't imagine how hard it was for those kids to go to yet another race track. And then...... their true colors came out again. When the sisters tried to comfort them - they were rude. Especially at the end when Phil was questioning the family and the one daughter said we are trying to live a good Christian life and none of these other people are. My DH and I both said at the same time "retards." (That wasn't the only time we spoke simultaneously last night). They don't know that they aren't the only Christians.

So, the other time DH and I both spoke up at the same time was when the annoying sister - the one in the pink - said that they were smart - after they were forced to find another flight - he and I both said "NO!" at the same time. Ummm.... they weren't being resourceful and trying to find the quickest flight - they were forced to go to Newark and they lucked out. I thought that was funny.

I really don't know who to route for at this point. I think I am going to go with the Linz's - they crack me up.

They were against on day one. We could never understand why. The only thing I saw was the Linz family all of a sudden calling them crazy and other nasty things because one of the girls and her mom were dancing outside the bus. It seems as though all of the families, except the Rugrats, think they are above everyone else and see nothing wrong with talking trash. At least the Weavers, like the Rugrats, have never talked nasty about their own family members like the others. We are just thrilled that the Paolas can go back under the rock they came from!

I can't stand the Weavers. They are rude, crude and obnoxious but I do think they are playing a good game. They don't give up and the don't get lost. They are almost always in the middle of the pack, even though there are three kids on the team (hoochie shorts and all). I was impressed that the mom did the go-cart thing. It must have been very difficult for her family to do two race-track related tasks. I was also impressed on how smoothly Rolly did the airplane task. Unfortunately, I think they will be in the final three and they may even win.

I think I will root for the Pink Ladies, although I agree that they can also be annoying. I'm not sure I like the Linz Family because I don't like the dynamics between the 3 brothers and the sister. The boys seem to be pretty chauvinistic and the girl is stuck in that "giving 150%" to bring herself up to their perceived level. I'm also not all that happy with the Bransen Family. The father always seems to be trailing his daughters and they seem to push on without waiting for him. I'm not seeing a lot of love or respect.

I shook my head last night. The kids were throwing GARBAGE at the sisters car.....unprovoked. There were a couple of other times where they made nasty or snide comments. OH! I remember...how about when the sisters felt genuinely bad for them at the go-karts. They went over to give them a lift. Told them how great their mom was for doing it, ect. RUBBED someone's back. Not 2 seconds after they walked away, the girls were saying how much they hate the desperate housewives. That they were such LIARS. GGGRRRRR. If I had ONE shred of like for them, it disappeared last night. I personally took offense to what they said to Phil at the pit stop, that they are the ONLY team that does not cuss, and because of that they feel they are the only Christians, and the other teams hate them because of that.

OK, I did not want to get into this I hate the Weaver's debate because of the Christian thing, but it is not because they are Christians that they are not liked, but they are SURFACE Christians. They talk the talk, and think they are above everyone else, but they don't walk the walk.

There is no way the other teams are against them because they are Christians. They are against them, because they play dirty, and have since the very 1st episode. If I were one of the other teams, I would of been very offended at the pit stop remarks. Yes, I curse like a sailor sometimes, that does not mean I do not love God, and live a respectful, moral life.

Rolly seems to be the only decent kid in the family. I feel bad that he is stuck with such nasty sisters, and a mom who condones it. When the sisters wanted to tell the guard to give the Linz family a history lesson, the mom said no way, I thought she would say, that would be wrong, and not very Christian of us, what does she do? She laughs and say I'M gonna do it. So she does, and it is so bad, the guard feels he should TELL the Linz's they were talking smack. So even a total stranger could see how different they are playing the game.

The Weaver girls remind me so very much of the girls in High School who really enjoyed picking on someone, and feeling they were better than everyone else. The movie Mean Girls comes to mind. I wonder how many of their classmates are routing for them to lose?

Oh sure, they don't think they are above anyone else. They just call people classless, make fun of the dad for being a garbageman, and pretty much think anyone who doesn't live a "christian" way of life is beneath them.

They really seem like good people. :teeth:

I don't think the Linz family have talked nasty about each other. They seem like a very tight knit group of kids.

The bus episode with the Weavers whining and carrying on about the long ride seemed to be the real beginning of their woes with the other teams. It seemed to escalate after that.

I don't get how the Weavers just seem to be baffled that people don't like them. At least when Boston Rob and Amber did sly things last season they knew exactly what they were doing and didn't apogize to anyone for it. These people are rude and crude and then act like they have no idea that it is wrong.
I think the worst one is the mother for egging it on and not putting her kids in line.

I wonder if they see it now, when they are watching themselves on TV. I wonder what their friends and neighbors say to them.

I LOVE the Linz family. They never get down on their luck...when the sister's passed them in the motor boat, they just yelled and screamed, but in a fun way. I loved when they got in the car, knowing the had to find the Grand Canyon, and one of the boys just said "maybe we'll get to ride a Don-kay"

OMG! I just LOL at that. They are in it for a good time.

I loved how the Poalo's told the Bransens to put on their clothes. It just proves that all the teams, with the exception of one, really do enjoy each other, and want to help each other.

Can't be as bad and what the Paolas are hearing from their family and friends! LOL!

I thought about that - they're probably reading message boards cutting them down, too. I imagine them having a poor us attitude and being in denial about how they acted.
